Los primeros resultados preliminares divulgados por el Consejo Nacional Electoral muestran que el rechazo se impone en las cuatro preguntas de la consulta popular y el referéndum.
Con cerca del 5 % del escrutinio a las 18.40 (hora de Quito y de Miami), la mayor distancia que se registra corresponde a la consulta popular para elaborar una nueva Constitución, donde el No se impone con el 60,8 %.
Sobre la eliminación de la prohibición de establecer bases militares extranjeras, el No alcanza el 59,1 %.
Por su parte, para la reducción del número de legisladores de la Asamblea Nacional y el financiamiento público de los partidos políticos, el No tiene una mayoría del 56,7 % y del 52,8 %, respectivamente.
