The first and most important component of sex ed is teaching children
a) How to recognize if an adult is sexually abusing you, and
b) What to do if an adult is sexually abusing you.
Comprehensive sex ed includes other topics, including discussion of what changes your body will go through in puberty and how to have safe sex, but those can and usually do come later.
Sex education needs to start as early as possible, because if kids don't start sex ed until age X, then pedophiles know they can more easily get away with abusing kids who are younger than X.
The people most likely to sexually abuse kids are their parents, which is why we need schools, not parents, to provide sex education.
You likely can't teach a lesson about sexual abuse to a 1-day-old baby, but you absolutely can teach a 5-year-old.
When you hear policymakers say "kindergarten is too young to get sex education," what they are really saying is that they want to rape kindergartners and not get caught.

Sex ed should be taught as soon possible. I think by age 8 you should learn the mechanics of it and how it works. I think they should even teach how to do it properly.

There's degrees of abuse, and it ranges from the most extreme down to stuff like demanding a hug or kiss from a kid, which they should understand isn't something people are entitled to.

I don't think the solution to reducing the sexual abuse of minors is to educate 5 year olds about sex dude lol.
There are much better and way less weird ways to reduce abuse that would involve improving awareness and cultural systems of protection of adults. If anything, pedophiles gravitate towards occupations that involve children so this seems like an pretty straightforward vector for abuse itself than anything else lol.

Before puberty it should only be about not letting strangers touch you, learn to say "no" (so don't even teach them about puberty) and during puberty teach them that casual sex is a risk for your health (STDs) and that condoms should be used with your parent before testing. No nothing about porn or "safe (casual) sex" as it is down now

Paedophiles are not actually that common, and most of them are just patriarchs and traditionalists not predators going after random children. People are so scared of others lmao. But its not a bad idea, and certainly a part of sex education is protecting children, but the bigger part is teaching them how to navigate relationships and situations so they can act like normal adults.
