Zarah Sultana Boycotts Your Party Conference Over Member Expulsions
Your Party’s founding conference began in Liverpool today, with Jeremy Corbyn calling for unity among warring factions in the party – shortly before co-founder Zarah Sultana announced she would be boycotting all of the day’s events. Sultana’s refusal to set foot inside the conference hall was to protest a wave of last minute expulsions, with Socialist Workers party national secretary Lewis Nielsen claiming that he and several other members had received letters cancelling their memberships on Friday. He was already on a train to Liverpool at the time, he said.

They intend to introduce the right after six months of service instead, while other day-one rights to parental leave and sick pay are still set to go ahead, coming into effect in April 2026.

Education spending in real terms in Argentina drops to lowest since 2006
Article 9 of Argentina’s National Education Law states that the State must guarantee system funding and that the education budget must not fall below six percent of Gross Domestic Product. However, a report by Argentinos por la Educación notes that this target was met only in 2015, with the shortfall between 2006 and 2020 amounting to sme five percent of GDP. The organisation added that the 2026 draft Budget drafted by the Executive Branch – now awaiting approval or rejection in Congress – seeks to repeal Article 9, removing the legal obligation to allocate at least six percent of GDP to education.

PFLP Calls for Mass Popular Action in Global Cities for Gaza
Restoring this momentum is an urgent necessity to pressure for a halt to the aggressions and violations, for the occupation to fully implement the agreement, for the crossings to be opened unconditionally, and for the flow of humanitarian aid into the sector amidst the escalating catastrophe. We call for a unified global day of solidarity that constitutes a new push for organized popular action and brings the cause back to the forefront of international attention. The importance of restoring the luster of this global movement is highlighted by the unchanging reality and the worsening humanitarian tragedy in Gaza. We affirm that the cause is passing through an extremely dangerous stage with continued breaches, escalating violations in the West Bank and Jerusalem, the suffering of the prisoners, and the collapse of living conditions in the sector.

COP30 Isn’t a Failure — It’s a Farce
As the COP30 climate summit comes to a close here in Belém, in the Brazilian state of Pará, conference organizers have little to show after two weeks of highly publicized talks. This is bad for everyone. The United Nations Climate Change Conference desperately needed to restore its reputation. After all, last year’s COP29 took place in Azerbaijan, where fossil fuels make up 90% of the exports and where the government was being accused of carrying out genocide in the months leading up to the conference. The previous year, the COP28 was held in Dubai, capital of another petrostate. This year, the marketing strategy for the climate conference began with a mea culpa for the historic exclusion of Indigenous peoples. A UN press release announcing the findings of a recent report on Indigenous peoples and the climate crisis put it this way: “From green energy projects imposed without consent to policy decisions made in rooms where Indigenous voices are absent, these communities are too often excluded from climate solutions, displaced by them, and denied the resources to lead the way.” To address this, Brazil’s Ministry of Indigenous Peoples (MPI) invited 360 Indigenous leaders to participate in negotiations inside the COP, after a six-month process in which events were held with 80 Indigenous peoples whose territories are occupied by the Brazilian state. The goal was “to ensure the largest Indigenous participation in the history of the UN Climate Conferences,” according to the official COP30 website. In a sort of call and response, The New York Times and other mainstream media uncritically echoed these claims, with headlines like “Indigenous People, Long Sidelined at Climate Talks, Take the Stage.” What these declarations assume is that, while there may be errors in the process, the solution is greater participation. None of these institutions — the UN, big media outlets, major NGOs and world governments — seem willing to face the truth that the COP process is not simply failing to solve the climate crisis: It cannot solve the climate crisis. And this farce is getting in the way of actual, active strategies to protect Indigenous peoples and address the ecocide.

The Poverty of Philosophy by Karl Marx Chapter One: A Scientific Discovery 2. Constituted Value or Synthetic Value
Value (marketable value) is the corner-stone of the economic structure. “Constituted” value is the corner-stone of the system of economic contradictions. What then is this “constituted value” which is all M. Proudhon has discovered in political economy?
Once utility is admitted, labor is the source of all value. The measure of labor is time. The relative value of products is determined by the labor time required for their production. Price is the monetary expression of the relative value of a product. Finally, the the constituted value of a product is purely and simply the value which is constituted by the labor time incorporated in it. Just as Adam Smith discovered the division of labor, so he, M. Proudhon, claims to have discovered “constituted value.” This is not exactly “something unheard of,” but then it must be admitted that there is nothing unheard of in any discovery of economic science. M. Proudhon, who fully appreciates the importance of his own invention, seeks nevertheless to tone down the merit therefore “in order to reassure the reader to as his claims to originality, and to win over minds whose timidity renders them little favorable to new ideas.” But in apportioning the contribution made by each of his predecessors to the understanding of value, he is forced to confess openly that the largest portion, the lion’s share, of the merit falls to himself. “The synthetic idea of value had been vaguely perceived by Adam Smith…. But with Adam Smith the idea of value was entirely intuitive. Now, society does not change its habits merely on the strength of intuitions: its decisions are made only on the authority of facts. The antinomy had to be stated more palpably and more clearly: J.B. Say was its chief interpreter." Here, in a nutshell, is the history of the discovery of synthetic value: Adam Smith – vague intuition; J. B. Say – antinomy; M. Proudhon – constituting and “constituted” truth. And let there be no mistake about it: all the other economists, from Say to Proudhon, have merely been trudging along in the rut of antimony. “It is incredible that for the last 40 years so many men of sense should have fumed and fretted at such a simple idea. But no, values are compared without there being any point of comparison between them and with no unit of measurements; this, rather than embrace the revolutionary theory of equality, is what the economists of the 19th century are resolved to uphold against all comers. What will posterity say about it?"
