They just use the ML aesthetic and label and parade around giant Stalin portraits a few times a year while totally abandoning everything Marx and Lenin stood for.
Honestly it wouldn't surprise me if in both cases they were compromised by the state in such a manner as so to prevent and cripple the development of any real Communist movement in their respective states.
