How did Tumblr come to become so insanely influential in almost every social sphere? From scenes being taken over and only really enforcing "gatekeeping" based on Tumblrs values, to Social Academia and Universities enforcing Tumblr standards on students and staff and even the funding of research, to middle management forcing proles to sit through eye rolling incoherent Tumblr course nonsense, to Pop culture largely adapting entirely to Tumblr values and IP's one after the other being turned to only really appeal to Tumblr standards, to even gigagiant evil corpos like Blackrock enforcing Tumblr nonsense through many of their funding. The left itself has largely been taken over and had it's social values and political values rewritten to place primacy on Tumblr's takes on identity, you have actual politicians running for offices that sound like a 14 year old on Tumblr in 2014.
As someone who has been pretty familiar with Tumblr trends since the late 2000s it's been wild watching often what were trends and theories that were created by teenagers, get taken out of that context, to become mass political liberal/left establishment and middle management/academia talking points. It's also been very wild watching massive franchises, just get run roughshod over with Tumblr to the point that is actually obnoxious (WotC, DnD, Star Trek, Star Wars etc).
How did Tumblr do this? Reddit is technically a bigger site but has nowhere near this influence, 4chan was a bigger site back in the day, and again, not this influence at all. So how is it that I'm watching Politicians and business leaders, spout crap that was the domain of confused larping scene kids on Tumblr a decade ago?

I wouldn't consider Tumblr "left" at all.
It's obsessed with individualism and idpol. It is shocking how much of it went mainstream. Like neo pronouns, that's all Tumblr thought. We see now a reaction against it which was very predictable.

what? what are you talking about?

There are some good commie posters on tumblr. The artist that made the revolutionary catgirls had an account there too.

How did BNWO come to become so insanely influential in almost every social sphere? From scenes being taken over and only really enforcing "gatekeeping" based on BNWOs values, to Social Academia and Universities enforcing BNWO standards on students and staff and even the funding of research, to middle management forcing proles to sit through eye rolling incoherent BNWO course nonsense, to Pop culture largely adapting entirely to BNWO values and IP's one after the other being turned to only really appeal to BNWO standards, to even gigagiant evil corpos like Blackcock enforcing BNWO nonsense through many of their funding. The left itself has largely been taken over and had it's social values and political values rewritten to place primacy on BNWO's takes on identity, you have actual politicians running for offices that sound like a 28 year old GOP twink on BNWO in 2014.
As someone who has been pretty familiar with BNWO trends since the late 2000s it's been wild watching often what were trends and theories that were created by Charlie Kirk fans, get taken out of that context, to become mass political liberal/left establishment and middle management/academia talking points. It's also been very wild watching massive franchises, just get run roughshod over with BNWO to the point that is actually obnoxious (WotC, DnD, Star Trek, Star Wars etc).
How did BNWO do this? Chinese BDSM is technically bigger but has nowhere near this influence, Japanese cuck fetishism was bigger back in the day, and again, not this influence at all. So how is it that I'm watching Politicians and business leaders, spout crap that was the domain of confused BNWO larping a decade ago?

cart before horse. tumblrites didn't come up with any of that shit. what festered on tumblr was the result of teenage burgeroid brains trying to process liberal arts degrees, regurgitating half-remembered socio-moral lessons into an online hugbox only marginally less cultish than 4chun

Tumblr is completely irrelevant. This is nonsense.

>>2589663
It's not that Tumblr took over the world, it's that Tumblr for whatever reason became the most visible face of PMC culture

>>2589695
Go back to 4chan.

because it's where cool young people with high social capital hung out and those people brought pressure to bare on institutions more effectively than the "real" left ever did. and when it became clear they weren't the sell-outs the "real left" think they are, institutions quickly u-turned and allied with fascists to give them the stick instead of the acknowledgement that they'd really like a carrot there's room for a mcluhanite perspective on tumblr as an ideas factory (which is what defined much of its specific style) but ultimately their influence is demographic.

I didn't realize Tumblr is even still around. The last time I heard about them was when they banned porn a few years ago.

Until Blue Sky came along Tumblr was pretty much the only big site to recognize and cultivate the immense power of theater kid autism where places like Twitter or 4chan rejected it for being cringe

>How did Tumblr conquer the world?
it did?
>How did Tumblr come to become so insanely influential in almost every social sphere?
It is?
> From scenes being taken over and only really enforcing "gatekeeping" based on Tumblrs values,
They do?
Anon, what the fuck are you talking about. Tumblr is a fairly isolated community that few outside of them give a shit about.

>>2589746
I forgot how much I missed that. Where is catgirl drawgirl now? I have to assume she's still making art but under another alias? Or did she really just drop off the face of the earth?

>>2589663
Same as 4chan, people went there for the porn.

academia came first, tumblr is just pomo/post structuralist 1980s/1990s theory filtered by teen girls

tumblr is just a reaction to 4chan

>tumblr
I thought Tumblr was obscured by other social media pretty quickly. And then, for some reason, killed the only remaining niche for it's existence, porn.

>become so insanely influential in almost every social sphere
I dont think you live in the world of the average person
