< Larian CEO confirms the studio is using generative AI to "explore ideas, flesh out PowerPoint presentations, develop concept art and write placeholder text."
< He says there won’t be any AI-generated content in Divinity — "everything is human actors; we’re writing everything ourselves."
I couldn't care less about the silly outrage over this, which is just the 2020s rehash of "is using samples actually music writing?". They're 100% going to use actual concept artists anyway, I get the feeling that they really like the fact they get to pay people to do that, lol. It just reduces the turn around time, like sure there might be some lost wages but I don’t see why we gotta live forever in a time of ideas guys being like "uhh make it like this" and then waiting a week for someone to draw the wrong thing when there's a tool to speed this up.
Hell, I doubt it even actually translates to lost wages so much as ideas they couldn't get the budget to explore anyway. We just have rose tinted glasses as consumers about concept art because we primarily consume all the "coolest" ones in the form of art books and don't see all the random rejected sketches and half baked ideas that went to a waste bin.

>>2603724Or just go to the appropriate board.
>>2603722AI generated voice acting for big narratives RPGs should be obvious and natural, and players sperging against it are retards, just use actors for the main characters and AI for the secondary dialogues
>>2604597just drop voice acting in dense rpgs tbqh
>>2603722Expedition 33 was plastered with AI art and got nowhere near as much backlash as this
I played Dishonored one for the first time and had an existential crisis knowing the art direction in that game will be among the last to be completely made by human hands and not AI, it will stand as the peak of gaming done before outsourcing killed its soul.
>>2603724It's not his fault you constantly feel like a child
>>2604629>soullol. i think its natural to question what is unique or special about human art in these times, but i doubt the answer will be found in superstitious beliefs about the human soul
so much of the response to AI shit is people being like "wow I thought this was really cool but then I found out it was AI and now i dont", we perhaps need to as a society interrogate why that is. maybe if we got rid of IP laws, no one would be arguing this much
Ok that's very interesting and I think it is a good idea, but can we instead talk about the two-faced criticisms of the revisionists? They say Maoists must do more to fight against the CIA, but then when they do, they call it "atrocities". But that is what fighting reactionary elements looks like. There is no way of fighting CIA reactionaries other than killing them, but then the revisionists complain about it and frame the Maoists as barbarians, killing innocents, when they are just killing collaborators.
>>2604640What if they collaborated because they were historically oppressed by the nation they lived in, and saw the foreign empires as a chance of obtaining self determination
