Redpill me on farmers. What's the deal with modern farmers in the west?
a backwards class which must be eradicated mercilessly
fuck them and fuck their stupid hats
the most reactionary and backwards sector of the bourgeoisie. they have destroyed multiple countries. need to be eradicated
>bourgeois i respect and bourgeois i do not respect
okkkk lol
>>2604685Petty bourgeois land owner class will need mass purging and reeducation post revolution
Mencken was right about them
So many ignorant fucks who think "farmer" refers to the wage laborers farmers employ and not the literal landowners.
All the people went to the cities so there was a process of monopolization that turned the remaining farmers into giant landlords. They are actually a cabal, very few of them but they have power over food production and prices. Critiquing them is a good litmus test to see if someone is truly anti-capitalist or they just hate (((bankers))) and love the aesthetics of farmers.
>>2604687Pretty much. Except American chicken farmers, which somehow ended up getting completely abused and beaten down by corporations.
>>2604745Well it's a confusion that exists on purpose, like how they pretend the executives making millions or billions just "worked" hard and are the same as us. Pill is easier to swallow for many regarding the peasants because only a handful of % of the workforce is in agriculture in a developed country so the general pop doesn't have an understanding about how it goes cause they don't know any people working that domain.
>>2605485>which somehow ended up getting completely abused and beaten down by corporationsgood, join the proletarian mass already
>>2605485Based megacorpos
>>2606152oh here's Moffin'. You hang out with more important people now. You think you're too good for us, huh?
>>2604685Historically the most reactionary group
>>2605501>>2604745Yeah, the illusion is funded in order to keep the industry going.
Just collectivize agriculture like Belarus. Problem solved and farmers become a progressive class. Reminder that every single successful socialist revolution in history worked and allied with farmers. Rural hate is just liberal copium and part of the reason socialist movements in the West are so weak (because they never think of or try to appeal to farmers).
>>2604685This image is such petit-bourgeois fantasizing, there simply is no major agricultural producer without heavy subsidies. Take Brazil: one of the government's largest expenses is half a trillion in investment in private farmers. Not to mention agroindustry and R&D.
>>2605673> In 2011, Pew Research reported that 71% of U.S. farmers who only grow chickens live at or below the poverty line. They pretty much are.
>>2607163>poor landowners are proletarians somehowlol fitting flag for such a retarded statement. and ofc its an amerilard too. communists arent supposed to side with the petit bourgeois who fail at competing with the larger bourgeois. are failing businesses proletarian too?
>>2607164Oh, they're not failing at competing or anything, except maybe each other, arbitrarily forced by the companies. 97% of poultry is done by contract farming, so they don't even own the chickens, have no say in how to work, just the equipment and the land. And the companies regularly tell them to go into debt to get new equipment. And when government tried to regulate it, the farmers got threats not to cooperate, and whistleblowers get retaliated against.
It's honestly impressive how the booj manage to suck out the means of production out of "owning the means of production".
>>2607141New Zealand is major relative to its small size and has the lowest farm subsidies in the OECD.
(Although it's a weird one: the state owns a for-profit agricultural company called Farmcorp for inscrutable reasons.)
>>2607163Fuck Mom n Pop shops
Kulaks get the rope
>>2604685American "farmers" = agribusiness owners that
>exploit cheap foreign labor,>use way too much fertilizer, creating runoff, algae bloom (they possibly kill more calories in fish than they grow in food btw) >receive subsidies to not grow food in the name of "price stability">will pour dairy products down the drain in the name of "price stability"etc. etc. etc.
it's really fuckin bleak.
>>2606220
kek
>>2607593Not if the condom broke
Reminder that since there are no peasants in the west anymore, what is called 'farmer'is in fact a kulak. They are farm owners, not workers. The workers are in great majority poor illegal migrants with no rights whatsoever. A principled communist must be for dekulakisation. If the USSR in 1928 was already 'ripe' for dekulakisation, advanced modern Europe and NA have no excuse to keep pampering these bloodsuckers.
>>2604728Farmers I know just work the land but dobt own it. Still they are petit-bourgeoisie as they own their tools (tractors, combine harvesters) bought with tax dollars.
