you don't. there is no such thing as counter culture anymore. the contemporary notion of counter culture as political vehicle is/was new left idealism to begin with, but it also presupposes a hegemonic mainstream culture to counter which does not exist and hasn't in large part for at least two decades now. it's trivial that people become angry with social relations when the latter are identified as impediments to acquisition of means of consumption. the productive question is how to convert anti-systemic consciousness into explicit class consciousness. i don't have a good answer there. no one does, and i suspect if they did they wouldn't be wasting time here to elucidate it.
