I'm not too well versed in Venezuelan politics. A Venezuelan immigrant living in Brazil I know, who's kind of a radlib 'anarchist', has been posting that Trump is bad but the "dictator" Maduro is a tyrant criminal and responsible for the economic crisis (no mention of sactions for some reason) etc etc you know the drill. She larps as an indigenous artist but she's pale-skinned, her father is an engineer, she used to travel when she was a child, and she came here well-educated in her early teens, so there's no chance she wasn't upper-middle class or something and that makes me very suspicious of her perspective. Her family left Venezuela early during Maduro's first term, which is internationally recognized as legitimate.

Blogpost aside, what's the consensus on Maduro? I know the drug charges are bogus but, did he really rig the election? Is he an "ecoterrorist" overlooking the looting and destruction of the Amazon rainforest? Is he a bad administrator of his country? What's the good and the bad here, materially speaking?
