At least here in the U.S., being into North Korea is a highly fringe position, so I think part of what's going on with White Juche types or whatever is that it's attractive precisely because it's fringe and weird. It's not like many of them have actually been to the DPRK either (although it's not unheard of) so it functions mostly at the level of symbolism and aesthetics for them.
