spaceflight doesn't seem very popular among leftists recently. what does /leftypol/ think about it? are the moon and mars just playthings for billionaires? will china do anything differently? is socialist thought relevant to future lives beyond earth or is it all just a scifi obsession?
the hatred of space by leftists is dumb, instead we should be pushing for space to be for the benefit of the people and not be monopolized by elon and co. Space colonization as a concept is not inherently bad,
why should we think about space when we havent even searched the oceans?
>>26491311. its boring compared to space
2. Theres not that much there resource wise
3. We can do both
Space is the ideal project for the communist horizon. There just isn't the same profit motive to explore the heavens under capital, and it would be an ideal place to focus excess energy. There's a reason it was the Soviets who kicked off the whole space thing.
Send the capitalists into space.
Communist society should exist here, on Earth. There's no imperative to expand to a solar system which is completely undeveloped, uninhabited 'wilderness.' Send the bourgeoisie into orbit, where the imperative to expand, innovate and develop productive forces actually makes sense and can be put to use harvesting asteroids and terraforming planets for infinite profits.
>>2649143>>2649131we can learn to communicate with the dolphins.
I don’t want to hear a peep or a word about space or the deep ocean or any other nonsense until human poverty is gone
>>2649217>shouldWhy? Why "should" it be confined to earth?
>There's no imperative to expand to a solar system which is completely undeveloped, uninhabited 'wilderness.'There is imperative to not expand either.
>>2649337How about the complete waste of resources it takes to even get to space
