I've been thinking of creating a thread to help develop ways of communicating general theory to just normal people irl.
A lot of people on the internet are usually doomers that think "the modern prole is brainwashed he'll never achieve class. Consciouaness!", but that is not true. I've meet self-proclaimed conservatives agree with many fundamentals of socialism while not even knowing what the word means.
I think all you have to do is be reasonably respected, use understandable terms, and most importantly, use solid IRL examples they see everyday in their life for reference, because its literally undeniable at that point if they see the exploitation in their own lives.
For example to explain the unnecessary nature of capitalism/consumerism use this:
"Isn't it crazy how there's factories still producing X in the modern day? Imagine how much better the world would be if those factories went towards literally anything useful for society like housing, food, etc".
Or for something like surplus value use this:
"If you think about it, corporate profit is literally just theft. If i produce a X for my company i get payed 20 dollars, but my boss gets a profit of 100 dollars, that means he's taking 80% of my hard earned cash without contributing at all to it, thats literally his only job".
>>2652504In my experience, this can only get the average person to the level of consciousness that I would describe as "yeah, you're right - rich people are taking advantage of us."
You will be hard pressed to get them any further than that. You are going up against the most powerful propaganda machine ever built. And there's no way to talk our way into socialism.
>>2652504Bro thinks he is a party central organ
If anyone actually believes what you said they‘re just an idiot and agreeing with any of that doesn‘t come close to agreeing with Marxism as well.
>>2652627its a better method of Larping about this shit than the way people usually do, most dudes on this site play pretend central committee while begging the mods to make this place a [INSERT LEFTIST TENDENCY HERE] circlejerk
>>2652504>help develop ways of communicating general theory to just normal people irl.this fool thinks class consciousness is when you know theory and the more theory you know the consciousnesser you are. what if I told you there are people out there who haven't read a word of theory and have more class consciousness in theri little finger than you'll ever have?
Threadly reminder that 'class consciousness' isn't an ideology, feeling or some other metaphysical nonsense.
In Marxist theory, class consciousness IS the party. And it is counter opposed to union consciousness, which is the economic struggle without a party to turn it political, thus rendered impotent.
>>2653047What OP and others discussing is the latter if it isn't clear enough.
lenin said you cant go around converting everyone to socialism
>>2681849Lenin was dealing with peasants
>>2695620Have you met the retards here in the US?
The average burger is much less conscious than the average Russia peasant.
>>2652504Individual will never be class conscious. Only le party is conscious.
>>2695629Surely you are joking
>>2652504Noone here is class conscious or conscious at all
>>2652658Marxism can lick my fat little nuts
>>2695803>implying these mfs read>>2652504Honestly OP I really get the sense that a lot of doomers on here have either never touched grass or are so personally unpleasant that they are incapable of relating to ordinary workers. I've been on plenty of picket lines, talked to plenty of racist uncles and even educated/committed reactionaries. I've never once failed to get people to agree with at least some socialist principles and see how a reasonable person could agree with socialism as a whole. You can take the most cornfed, unwoke, well off, treatlerite mf you can think of and tell him that he and his buddies should own and run their workplace, they will respond positively.

>I've meet self-proclaimed conservatives agree with many fundamentals of socialism
Conservatives rarely pick their political orientation based on individual policy preferences. Right wingers consistently vote for parties whose program they almost completely disagree on case-by-case basis. You cant rationally convince them abandon position that wasnt rational in the first place.
One of the biggest blunders lefties make when it comes to potential recruits is mistaking right winger's discontent with current system as the same as theirs. Conservatives do not want more egalitarian, richer, kinder world, their entire ideology is "fuck you, got mine". When a conservative complains about unemployment or high rent, they dont want politicians to solve it on level of entire society, because rising tide lifting all boats means there wont be any people beneath them. Their politics are reflection of a personality structure more than material interests.
Talk to liberals instead, they usually share the same values as we do, they are smarter, more rational, you can have a conversation with them.
>>2652504>the unnecessary nature of capitalismYou illiterate retards think capitalism exists almost entirely by accident, lmao.
>slash consumerismBruh.
>>2695803>spouts retarded shit>gets proven wrong<OHHHHHH YOU DONT WANT TO DO ANYTHING HUH??????You are literal cattle.
If all that was needed was "raising consciousness" (you don't even know what consciousness means, lol) then all those trots and anarchists annoying random people with zines and newspapers would've achieved communism decades ago.
>>2695975>>2695978Either write actual criticism of OP in full sentences, not fucking meme arrows, and present an alternative, or shut the fuck up Glownonymous.
