A new merch drop from Hakim, Ugopnik and SecondThought.
With Lenin passing you a cigarette. Do I really need to explain why that's a horrible imagery? I'll do just in case.
Cigarette companies are the worst example of capitalism. Was one of the building stones for me becoming socialist. They used every possible scheme to intentionally get people addicted to their poison and acquire "lifelong clients". No one was off the table: men, women, children, elderly. They bribed doctors, made up with fake data and research, promoted their poison in tv and movies, payed celebrities, hooked up soldiers, infiltrated feminist movements and on and on and on. Worst part? They admit to it now but still do it in poorer countries to this very day. "Tobacco causes approximately 8 million deaths annually worldwide, with over 7 million resulting from direct tobacco smoking and roughly 1.2 to 1.3 million resulting from non-smokers being exposed to secondhand smoke. It is a leading cause of preventable death, killing up to half of its users." (Source: W.H.O.)
This isn't several decades ago, this is happening NOW. To this day they still try to get a grip on people. Promoting it as cool, mature and sexy.
I'm not saying that one meme t-shirt will cause people to start smoking but it will plant seeds of positive perception about smoking in them. And slowly with each movie, each meme, each celebrity smoking people will be subconsciously pushed towards it. That's how the cigarette companies pushed it through Hollywood before.
As a content creator with a large audience it is extremely important to pay attention to what imagery you're promoting on your platform. Indirectly promoting one of the worst sins of capitalism for a coin is horrible and hypocritical.
I'm disgusted.
Weird imagery because Lenin hated smoking, ig it's just from meme culture but they should have used Mao
And yes I think we need to ban cigarette companies, seize all their assets and profits made (up to the socks of CEOs and their children who got rich by drugging billions worldwide), fund recovery and addict centers for smokers with that money.
There is no rational second option here.
Oh they do have Mao behind him. Well they should have just used Mao alone
>>2670289Nah I don't care. I just hate the three of them for being moralist multipolaroids. That chinese-mandated Mao appearance is funny.
>>2670295Mao was a well-known chainsmoker that's why they added him
>>2670293Wouldn't have made it any better.
"This person was addicted to poison so it's okay to promote poison"
The OP point still stands.
<ignore supporting socdems and theocrats while promoting class collaboration
>muh ciggies is why the program is bad
>>2670304WOW owned epic style bro BASED!
The merch looks like shit. The Iraqis are not sending their best.
>>2670310Already explained how this "meme" can affect people and their perception of a extremely addictive and deadly poison.
>>2670313You're being a drama queen and a prude lol. The effect of some lefties making a shirt with people smoking on it is completely negligible. Just be honest and admit it offends your personal sensibilities lmao, no need for this cope about how harmful it is to make a shirt that implicitly endorses smoking
>>2670312just another piece of evidence that hakin is actually a Swedish guy
>>2670316Just say you fell for it and are a cigarette addict.
But you can quite any day, right bud?
>>2670320I am a nicotine addict sure, but not because of some shirt lol. I was fully aware and cognizant that smoking is bad for you and I started doing it because of my environment and my lack of foresight.
>But you can quite any day, right bud?Lol are you american by any chance? If I could quit any time, I'd have done it a long time ago
If you care about podcasters, you’re a parasite
I'm>>2670326
>because of my environment
Yes the people around you, the media you consume, the things you glance at day to day and not even remember, all affect you. All have a subconscious effect on your worldview. This effect is even stronger when the ones affecting you are the people you like/feel attraction towards. That's how things get normalized. That's how you push ideas. That's how you get people hooked up.
>I am a nicotine addict sure
Wasn't hard to guess.
>>2670329If you call me an icky word you're a parasite.
>>2670334We used to have designated zones at my high school where kids used to smoke with their teachers during breaks, every bar and club I went to as a teenager had indoor smoking areas, which is where I first started. That's what I mean by environment, the media and things to glance at were all anti smoking. Simply depicting someone smoking is not what turns the scales here
>Wasn't hard to guessI wasn't trying to hide it
>>2670340The media was anti smoking but the people were the opposite. You were affected by the people from your environment. I grew up in a similar environment actually. But instead of joining in I started hating that.
I'm not sure what you're trying ot argue here. That subtle media doesn't have effect on people and their choices? Wrong. Companies wouldn't spend billions on ads if that wasn't the case. And by ads I also mean small, subtle things like a car in a movie being a certain brand, a poster in the middle of the road, etc.
>I wasn't trying to hide itBut you didn't state it at first and it was easy to guess without it.
you should kill yourself for making a blatant /isg/ tier thread and muh screech for muuuh smoke merch
the cigarette/cigar is a phallic symbol often used by the right to demonstrate masculine traits. its just the vulgar aestheticisation of power.
>>2670352you should kill yourself for replying with a shitpost without contributing anything to the discussion and not being intelligent enough to understand the effects or importance of "muuuh smoke merch" and public image.
>>2670348Plenty of people in my youth were still anti smoking as well, including many of my peers and friends.
>I'm not sure what you're trying ot argue hereThat the effect that this one tshirt has is marginal at best, if not completely inconsequential and that you're a drama queen for getting upset about it.
>But you didn't state it at first and it was easy to guess without it.Yeah, it was pretty obvious, that's what I mean by I wasn't trying to hide it. Could you answer my question about you being american btw?
>>2670358nothing ever happens OP, nobody gives a fuck about content creators grifting for quick bucks and the issue of "tobacco industry and harm it causes" when all the cool kids are on ecigs or vapes/THC, you could effectively talk how youtube oftem exploit labor enough that youtubers relies on sponsors and merch.
also consider that the deprogram accept sponsors shamelessly while brazillian communists youtubers never fucking did beside sponsoring the work of their friends
>>2670369It's OVER.
>>2670367>Could you answer my question about you being american btw?I am not.
>>2670373You should work on seeming less american anon, it's not a good look
I don't listen to TrueAnon much anymore but one of the things Brace said that stuck with was something like "nobody really cares about hypocrisy because everyone's a hypocrite." If someone already likes these guys, you're not gonna change their mind with this. You're just masturbating.
Podcasters were never even meant to be taken this seriously, but Chapo just made too much money I guess.
>>2670289There is no ethical smoking/merch dropping under capitalism + smoking is cool.
>>2670363booze and cigarettes are just an evil peas and carrots that feels amazing.
I'm not reading all that shit
>>2670428Brainlet
>>2670421Alcohol just dumbs you down, makes you dizzy, sleepy, lowers reaction time all while causing inflammation to your organs.
Smoking just gets you addicted to the nicotine high. It makes high nicotine in blood the base state for your body and the relief you feel when smoking again is you coming back to that base. All while causing inflammation and ruining your health. Not to mention the disgusting smell that linger on smokers.
I can still understand some drug abuse for instance those that give you a euphoria feeling/dopamine rush, but being addicted to trash like cigarettes and alcohol is just SAD. I suppose a lot of people just have toxicomania. Very concerning and brings out some sociological questions.

They could be socialist cigarettes
Don't car didn't read. Touch grass loser because that image goes hard.
>>2670450Do you have a boyfriend?
>>2670451I'm boning a guy the next town over but we're keeping it casual.
>>2670453i wish i was you tbh, i still want to go out with some weeb girl we met through tinder and at shopping, we seem both to like sociology and we like eachothee, althrough she works from monday to saturday for 8 hours each day, so she will never have a free time for us or me
>>2670520>I can't date a girl because she has a full time jobBro wat. So do most people. Just hang out after work.
>>2670523nah she works at a shopping and i do not like much closed spaces
nevertheless we once meet at interval of her full time work once.
So future socialist society won't have cigs because they're bad for you, how about sugar, alcohol, plastic, TV, cars, should we become Amish.
>>2670653>future socialist society won't have cigsCorrect.
>sugarSweeteners, they are more efficient and healthy.
>alcoholCorrect, there won't be alcohol, or will be heavily discouraged.
>plasticsPetroleum-based plastics probably will dissappear in favour of healthier and better materials. It might not dissappear from all places but at least it will from places that harm people.
>TVIt is already falling out of favour by itself among younger generations. It will probably be replaced by IPTV and streaming (or downloading) services.
>carsPublic transit (buses, trams, trains, airplanes) will be prefered and prioritized but people will be able to afford a car for travelling to remote areas or in emergency situations or call a taxi.
>should we become AmishWrong. The luddite Amish way of life will perish.
