I saw this the other day and it genuinely made me think. After all there are so many self proclaimed conservatives in history, yet every reactionary leader with the exception of Kolchak had some ties to liberal or even left wing movements.
For example, Hitler was a voter of SPD, ᴉuᴉlossnW had a communist father, Ivan Ilyn was deeply involved in liberal movement in Russia.

Kolchak is an exception since he was in the military and in general the military is about the only revolutionary potential that conservatism has.
Other than that it seems at least to me that conservatives are incapable of waging revolutionary struggle. Would you agree?

Fascism is basically a conservative revolution

Revolution = rapid movement of society forward in history
Left Reformism = slow movement of society forward in history
Centrism = attempt to hold society still in history
Right Reformism = slow movement of society backward in history
Reaction = rapid movement of society backward in history

👆Above is the framework I usually see but it's a bit static and bi-linear. Also it seems to imply that revolution and reaction are violent while centrism is not. But as we all know centrists can be incredibly violent in their preservation of the current structure of society.

Also naturally there is criticism of the entire "left right" framework inherited from 1789 French as a fundamentally bourgeois framework which limits the spectrum to the "left and right wings of capital".

We need a new framework but everyone hates all the complex compasses and other silly n-dimensional models people come up with.
