Tell me how did you get radicalized. Whether in paragraph form or greentext form.
>latin american
>country protests
>leave to imperial core
>grow up with western propaganda and "communist never works"
>suddenly one day go on wikipedia rabbit hole about my country's history
>oh wait a US backed dictator? weird why did they do it?
>oh a revolution good! oh socialist? thats odd…but hey its liberation.
>US funds counter revolutionary groups
>wait why? thats bad? isnt US good guys?
>fall deeper rabbit hole into US intervention in latin america
>realize that the imperial core exploits latin america for its resources
>realize that socialism will be the only thing to unite and free latin america
>read more, videos, wikipedia.
>I fall deeper from there
>mfw I become enlightened (picture)
I have awakened.
Also I really hope Trump wins the midterms so he can keep accelerating western decline. That is my wish.
I got a job
>>2671479Similar but for me it was when I realized that conservative politics is retarded and pointless and that the left wing retards I made fun of as a kid were actually right about almost everything
Bc I only recently turned 18 and my friends are all turning left wing because we have to go debt and get a job and work 8 hours and it's all mandated by gobierno for some fucking reason
And that I have to move out and there's laws defending owners and all that bs and strikes aren't really allowed bc it'll "hurt" us and trade unions arent strong enough
Fucking bullshit and I have to put with workplace bullying later, credit cards are so fucking evil, I can't believe I fell for rightoid bait as a child
It is really easy to hate transgender Maoists though i saw a 14 year autistic transgender maoist and he became a christian next year I haven't really warmed up to trans people yet
>>2671474
you are the biggest larper of all, mass tor baiter.
you are more middle class than anyone, mass tor baiter
hearing about my grandfather's korean war stories made me realize the US was the bad guy. learning about vietnam later solidified that. Seeing Abu Ghraib happen when I was 13 made me hate my own country. Anti-capitalism came later with OWS and having my first job at the same time. I noticed for a lot of younger people it's the opposite, they get a job and hate capitalism before they realize what the US gov is up to.
I got "radicalized" by un-liberalizing myself and reading like 10k pages of texts from fugen L E N I N, you socdem bitch
>>2672292seeing all the anons whose entire praxis is posting about how much better they are than everyone else on leftypol made me
vomit >>2671821they realize, hard not to, simply they dont care.
Working for shitty small business owners
>>2671469saw how my post-soviet state is doing and got radicalized
>>2672382in the circles I run in they more accurately refuse to know or learn. Like a significant amount of liberals today don't actually oppose much of what Trump does, if a democrat does it they are fine with that when given the proper narrative and symbolic gestures that allows them to rationalize. It's difficult to get them to accept what it may actually take to build an alternative to things when they really do want the old status quo still. educated phds and PMC types will shut off and refuse to understand imperialism and how it can't be separated from capitalism, because if they oppose imperialism totally they'd have to accept that there's no going back to the obama years and maybe even a hair cut for their life style necessary to save and protect the vulnerable populations they claim to care about. but if they don't oppose imperialism then one way or another our society ends up right where it is now or worse no matter what they do. some of them are weak in a way, to look at the problem as something that we aren't going to fix in the next election by electing a "good" person who is just a corporate democrat takes fortitude that some people lack.
Unironically following GamerGate out of curiousity when it happened back in the Fall of 2014, the group that migrated to 8chan, I followed them. And one of GG boards discovered one of Zoe Quinn's SuicideGirls photoshoot, with her posing nude with Antonio Gramsci's book "Prison Notebooks" and out of curiousity I read the book, and afterwards made my way to /leftypol/ on 8chan to ask questions and that was it.
Never seen someone use the term "radical" and not be a massive idiot, especially as a self-identifier.
I had to build a PC (it's been a long time) and the prices of things were outrageous. Even worse, importing pieces from anywhere with more reasonable prices would scarcely be a discount due to import taxes. Back then crypto was booming and hoarding all the electronics, much to the complicit profiteering of the sellers. So I was drawn to explanations other than "da j00s", "da chinks" and "suck it up loser (fav and subscribe and join my Patreon)".
I never had much respect for property though. Partly because of neetdom failing to impart the lessons of economic survival. But also because I've always had the internet since very young, long before smartphones I had dialup. Sharing and "piracy" felt quite natural. Also also, my parent's were… well not rich, but rich-er than the dogshit neighborhood we moved into for reasons, so having stuff and sharing it was always a good method to grease social relationships.
I remain an uneducated NEET, but angrier and slightly more focused on what about. Since then, quite a lot has happened that reinforces those beliefs and then the whole cold war too. Man, all that time and I still managed to do nothing with it, huh? OH well.
>>2673104>getting """radicalized""" over the price of consumer goods>neet manchild in affluent familyholy shit LMFAO this is even funnier than op
>>2673074I was an eco-fascist, my bet was on barbarie and darwinism.
The dialectics brought me to machiavelism and something along the lines of selective compassion.
i help others so they can live to fight the next day.
Contrapoints on youtube.
Started as a Maher-like atheist liberal. Got major icks from anti-SJWs in 2015 so that prevented me falling into neonazism. Started reading about the French Revolution and economy. Then Marx makes me realise that the promises of liberalism couldn''t be achieved in a class society.
used to be a freeloading NEET browsing /pol/ to cope with being brown and then I got a job in an offshored company and was kind of "organized" but not really organized ? As in we united simply on how shitty our bosses were and the fact that our salaries are literally 90% less than what the main branch in the Imperial core earns. Encountered youth sector org of our country's prominent leftist org and joined now I'm a Maoist.
>>2673381i know about those dumbass, I just made it short and quick
>>2673381also tell me your story
>>2671821what kinda stories? war crimes done on innocent people? did your grandfather participate in them?
The Palestininan genocide. Something so obviously wrong and murderous was celebrated by literally every big party here in Germany. Went from self-hating centrist arab to sucdem before that point.
>>2674410wait what? I mean I expected germany to probably dick ride israel because of the past but do they even acknowledge it or nah?
also I feel like the every action that the US takes toward latin america is just further radicalizing me more.
I am a sane person in an insane world.
>>2671469I just saw the current state of things realized that the only available solution to get out from this mess is a revolution
Liberal do nothing-ism radicalize me from centrist politics and im never going to become a nazi
>>2675892
>muh muh
>>2675879Things that also helped was seeing how the ruling class acts in my country, how the right wing never proposes anything to better the country but moral panic, the rise in reactionarism etc
Im not particularly very ideologically grabbed by everything that Marx proposed but i don't see any other solution and the situation is very bleak
>>2675892Stfu
>>2675892

>>2675928
Okay and?
>>2675938
Are you under the impression any of us like our mediocre ruling class
>>2675951
You can dislike two things at a time, if i had two cancers in my body it wouldnt be hypocrisy of me to celebrate that the bigger one is finally free from me
>>2675951
>o algo
>>2675969
Well yes you can, if the US collapsed soviet-style tomorrow the ruling class of LATAM would still be in place

>>2680605do you have to be over 18 to post here?
>>2680612>>2680605But MAGA is like, 10 years old. There's barely time to raise shit.
Was homeless in 2017. After that, it was shit jobs, shit pay, shit landlords. Started out as an anarchist because Conquest of Bread was an accessible and easy read, but I always had in mind that if I had been transported to the 50s, 60s, or 70s USSR, I would have been totally fine with it.
Started getting into Bookchin because of some of my friends, I think. About 2021, all of the Bookchin communalist types I was encountering turned out to be some of the most mentally ill people I'd ever met. Dogfuckers, just plain weirdos. Before long it was a case of hanging around tankies and such, esp. black tankies, who are invariably the coolest tankies I've met. I actually really read Engels and Marx in the early 2020s while I was living in the hood. Had an accident at work one day, fucked up my shit and had to be in a cast for like two months, and the whole experience, plus Covid before that, and then everything since has just pushed me more and more towards something like ML thought, even though I'm not a very studious reader these days.
Reading Parenti, Engels, and Cockshott has really changed my outlook. Used to be a lot more critical of China. Now I'm more of the opinion that I don't care if this or that revolution is perfect, because if any bourgeois revolution was perfect, I'd like to see some fucking receipts.
>>2680612yeah or else they kill you
>grow up poor
>got really into muh ukrainian heritage as a kid
>read about free territory and the ukrainian SSR
>get into russian history too
>more importantly soviet history

>this matters a lot since the shit in my home would break all the time and my family would treat it like a crisis
>learn that planned obsolescence wasn't really a thing even under the revisionist leadership
>become a dem soc
>read actual theory from lenin, trotsky, some other socialist thinkers and eventually stalin, hoxha and a lil bit of mao
>become an ML
