Unlimited Ammo and Unbreaking Gun - A Soldier's Wet Dream
A speculation on how such design and military technology can be achieved.
First of all I want to start this awesome thread by stating the obvious, all things are finite, but so are we, a soldier only has to have enough ammo to last his own lifetime or the time of the insurgency / war he is in. The logistical problem comes with the inability to carry or even possess such large quantities of ammunition. The obvious solution to this would be to try and utilize the environment as ammunition, but in handiwork this has only resulted in primitive and disadvantaged creations such as bows and arrows which are long due in the history of war.
So we must make a weapon that can be carried which can turn common parts of the environment into projectiles.
That would of course require a lot of energy that has to come from somewhere. All ammunition in guns for the most part carries its own charge in the form of gunpowder. So we would have to replicate the same reaction via some other method to occur entirely within the weapon itself and not the ammunition projectiles being fired.
This means we have to research on a way to create a chemical reaction out of the common environment that can easily be instigated and replicated to act as the charge for the necessary explosive reaction for projectiles to be fired.
With that I begin the first opening question: How can we do it?
You figure it out. I will try to figure it out on my own. I will share my findings with only likeminded people.
Now for the latter part of the title: Unbreaking Gun
I can safely say we have practically found the solution to that. Much of the old military equipment and commodities produced within the USSR have been designed to last a long time. Many guns from even WW2 are still in circulation and being utilized in wars throughout the world. We can study and copy the successful of said gun designs and even if imperfect (like everything in life), the design can at least be made optimal for repairments on the go.
I will end this opening with a third part: Portability.
It is of my opinion, that such a weapon to be created as imagined here would have to be easily carriable and portable akin to the MP5. But early designs would likely have to start large and become gradually smaller. Just like the computer, which was originally as large as a room and has evolved to many things ranging from a smart watch to a smart fridge and beyond. Ideal standard issued weapons would be as portable as the MP5.
Lastly to address the obvious -
>Doesn't this belong to >>>/AKM/ ?Yes it does, but that's a dead board, and my thread needs to receive at least some traction before it is buried there. Nobody will bother looking at it if its posted there, outside of trashy /overboard/ users who are morons. So I post it here for more to see and engage with before the horrid mods decide to bury it to live out their power fantasies of clicking a button to move one picture on their screen to another location. Autistic fat retards.
