Why is no one talking about this? A global network of attack satellites so the US can carpet bomb anywhere or the entire planet if it wants to.
>Pentagon leaders have said the system could be used to put offensive weapons in space, giving a global strike capability that would create offensive overmatch.[15] Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has said the U.S. "will be able to strike anywhere, anytime." Satellites might carry the bunker-busting Common-Hypersonic Glide Body (C-HGB),[75][76] which can reportedly fly 1,000 miles to strike within 14 inches of its target.[77] The missile was designed to fit the HIMARS ground launcher, so several can be compactly racked in a satellite payload bays.[78][79][80]

>>2683303For a number of reasons, it's extremely impractical from a cost-benefit standpoint. An orbital weapon by definition can't "strike anywhere anytime", it has limited delta-v and can only descend towards a target when it is correctly positioned and oriented. You can have thousands of these at LEO and still only be able to attack a specific location once or twice a day (not great during a full nuclear exchange scenario). There's nothing these things do that rockets and missiles can't do at a much grander scale. Those idiots are basically repeating the Reagan-era errors of wasting funds on ineffective "space-warfare" tech. Let them cook.
>>2683303Golden dome is a meme. It's only success will be making some aerospace companies some decent dough.
>>2683303>US can carpet bomb anywhere or the entire planetThey wont waste money on putting regular bombs up in space. Its about nuking enemy country (or more specifically the threat of this) in less than a minute in a surprise attack.
