Game theory is empiricist? It's very much based on a Euclidean rationalist strain of theorizing and assumes to overlap with reality. You could criticize game theory for using idealizations that may be so reductive that it doesn't actually capture the complexity of strategies in real world scenarios.

Didn't watch the video, but positive-sum games were already in Morgenstern and Neumann's foundational text: You can just model a zero-sum game and introduce a dummy player that gets looted by the others.

Yeah OP just has a meme understanding of philosophy so he doesn't know that empiricist and rationalist refers to two camps in philosophy, with the rationalists often being religious. He probably means something like "smug liberal racist atheist on reddit".

You can say that about the intro texts for just about anything. Game theorists also deal with people having cognitive limits, but that comes later.
