Many American zoomers (myself included) are waking up to the reality of capitalism and as a reaction the government is trying to force another Red-Scare under the guise of “Radical left,” “Woke,” “Antifa,” or whatever. They have already been doing the same stuff but it doesn’t work for a number of reasons and I’ll explain why.

During McCarthyism most Americans at least had something, like there was enough social safety nets to buy a house and have a family and stuff but all that us zoomers have ever known is Student loans and high rent.

Worse than that, ordinary Chinese people increasingly seem to live better lives than Americans. So not only do they not have one of their main propaganda advantages from the original Cold War, but the situation is more or less reversed.

A "red scare" is already happening but it's against critics of Israel and Zionism.
Most major social media platforms basically outright ban you immediately if you engage in any actual real meaningful critique of Zionism. You have people being fired from universities, jobs etc for critiquing Zionism, you have Canarymission, Stopantisemitism, Betar etc putting out doxxing smear lists of people critical of Zionism, people are being purged from political parties for anti-Zionism, there are states in the US where contractors have to pledge loyalty to Israel or lose their Government contracts etc, you have Palantir being injected everywhere to isolate and target critics of Israel.
The Red Scare is happening, but even more broadly than before because the general public itself is being targeted.
