Is the idea of eugenics in essence a bad idea? Like, does the idea of wanting to make people more healthy and brighter a bad idea per se? Is eugenic always bad and problematic, or they still space for to be useful for society? What's your thoughts on it?

the issue is that sexual selection is relative to what traits people find appealing (e.g. sexually attractive), so the model of breeding has to be oriented around that. how would you arrange society to produce these traits?

So people need to find being healthy and bright sexually attractive?

People generally settle for whoever they can get.

Honestly people do go around asking their potential partner for their medical history or their I.Q, lmao

Don't go*

There are plenty of benign and consentual medical screening programs that could be qualified as a soft form of eugenics so to speak and that were implemented by socialist parties such as the Thalassemia prevention program by Cyprus in the early 70s and later copied by the governments in Greece and Iran.

Unfortunately chuds on the Internet think offering optional and consentual prescreen programs for high-risk parents in order to prevent genetical illnesses means humans have for some reason genocide entire population groups immediately now and poison every discussion on any Internet conversation on genetics. So have a sage.

>Is the idea of eugenics in essence a bad idea?
It fundamentally doesn't work.
>Like, does the idea of wanting to make people more healthy and brighter a bad idea per se?
You do that through material conditions. Doesn't matter if you breed people into being saiyans, they'll be just as frail and ugly in the conditions people are currently living in.
>Is eugenic always bad and problematic, or they still space for to be useful for society?
It will never be useful because it doesn't work, and it will always be a problem when people try to make it work.

Picrel is something I wrote on the subject about a week ago yes I screencapped my own post, but it was because I feared the thread would get nuked any minute (and it did).

There's nothing wrong with capping your own post since it doesn't seem like leftypol does that kind of thing anymore.

More to its detriment.

I’d be immediately marked for either sterilization or death and I’d prefer not to

We don't live in a world of ideas, we live in material reality. So execution is what matters, and eugenics has and always will be executed in the worst matter possible by the worst people possible.
We've already seen the results of eugenics in action: dog breeding. Healthy dogs turned into tortured abominations because they're aesthetically pleasing. Imagine that on a human level.
Even as the science improves it will just be exploited by bad actors to craft bourgeois dolls.

you feds love pushing these eugenics thread. eugenics is the standard of u.s. governance. anyone who claims to be a communist while supporting eugenics, is someone who would be against a wall in front of a firing squad, in the ideal world.

Women are natures eugencisists

>eugenics has and always will be executed in the worst matter possible by the worst people possible.
Well, hard eugenics has only been executed in capitalist/fascist countries
