It wasn’t really the “Arabs” per se, more accurately the Believers who came out of the Hejaz were actually a broad coalition of monotheists, whose baseline were non-Trinitarian Christians, whose teachings would have been closer to the non-Trinitarian populations of the Byzantine and Sassanian Persian realms than to orthodox Christianity. Islam proper only began much later.
