They definitely could not. Iran has no real capacity to keep a modern air force at bay. Their own air force, EW, detection, stealth capabilities, etc. are all significantly inferior to the US and Israel. That's why they rely on ballistic missiles as their main deterrent rather than trying to actually repel the bombing. China by contrast has a modern air force and air defenses of comparable capacity to the US.

The fire that broke out aboard the USS Gerald Ford aircraft carrier last Thursday was not put out until 30 hours later, the New York Times reports, citing the sailors.
