Identifying with people or states over their ideas and actions creates a parasocial tendency to defend them uncritically, even when they fuck up, as all people and states inevitably do in a young movement struggling to walk in material reality. It's common to see excuses - "they tried their best, they were betrayed, they were attacked", rather than critical analysis that enables us to avoid those problems next time.
And if you mistook this post for an attack on the core ideas advocated by these people, such as vanguardism, you are exemplifying the fragility of hero worship.
