US told Turkey war on Iran would end in just four days, expert says
“Turkey and some of its allies were told, through official channels, that this operation would take days and be completed in four days,” Aydintasbas, a fellow at the Brookings Institution, said in an interview with the Serbestiyet news site. “You cannot tell a Nato ally that you have made a four-day plan and then extend the operation to 14 days. In a sense, this was also a betrayal of the regional countries.”

From Bay of Pigs to Speedboats: Trump Still Doesn’t Get It
There are moments when the class character of imperialist aggression reveals itself with brutal clarity. February 25, 2026, was one such moment. Cuban border guards intercepted a Florida-registered speedboat just one nautical mile off Cayo Falcones in Villa Clara province. The vessel carried ten armed Cuban exiles operating from U.S. soil. When the patrol approached to enforce sovereignty, the infiltrators opened fire. Cuban forces defended themselves, killing four − including at least one U.S. citizen − and wounding six. Weapons, ballistic vests and military-style equipment were seized. Havana correctly described it as a foiled “armed infiltration for terrorist purposes.” Washington, as always, denied any government role. Secretary of State Marco Rubio called it “not a U.S. operation” and announced yet another “independent investigation.” This is not an isolated incident. This is the latest chapter in U.S. imperialism’s six-decade war to crush the Cuban Revolution − the very same criminal methods the CIA employed against Fidel Castro and Comandante Ernesto Che Guevara. Let us recall the historical record without embellishment.

How the global crisis is strengthening Russia
The contemporary Russian regime has become adept at navigating global turbulence. Rising oil prices, shifts in trade flows, and disruptions to competing suppliers can all strengthen Russia’s position as a major exporter of raw materials. In this sense, the Middle Eastern conflict may temporarily stabilise the Russian economy. A profound change is underway, driven by the relative decline of US imperialism, which has lost its position of complete supremacy as a world power, along with the organic crisis of capitalism which is leading to a scramble for control of markets, resources, supply chains and spheres of influence, principally between the US and China. And it is precisely in this imperialist carnage that Russia is attempting to establish itself.

What relevance does Engels’ Socialism, Utopian & Scientific have to revolutionary theory and practice today?
On its publication, SUS had a major impact in making Marxism accessible. It positioned socialism not just as a utopian dream or an arbitrary consequence of struggle, but as the logical and necessary outcome of history. The distinction between “utopian” and “scientific” socialism was particularly resonant at a time of rapid scientific and technological change. It helped to unify the proliferating socialist and workers’ parties — including the German SDP — around a coherent core, distinct from anarchist, liberal and rival socialist currents. It acted as a call to action, not just analysis, to be led by a revolutionary and Marxist socialist party. The principal relevance and value of SUS today is three-fold. In the first place, much socialism retains its “utopian” features — the (often implicit) assumption that once people see the potential benefits of socialism they would embrace its principles at least. SUS emphasises that capitalism is inherently exploitative/oppressive, that part of that oppression is itself ideological, preventing people from seeing how they are exploited, and that attempts to improve things would be — and have been throughout history — met resistance.
