What do comrades make of Anatoly Fomenko and his "New Chronology" thesis regarding world history? Personally, I'm not even autistic enough for this crap. He makes many wild claims, that ancient history as we know it was entirely fabricated during the Medieval era (Phantom Time Hypothesis).
The reason I'm asking is because Fomenko is a hardcore Russian nationalist and many of his claims are clearly rooted in his Russian nationalist sentiments. For example, he claims Genghis Khan was akshually Russian. Also, he's one of the main people behind the Tartaria conspiracy theories (Tartaria is just WE WUZ KANGZ for Russians, after all). He published his work on the New Chronology in the mid 90s, when Russian nationalism was at an all time high and Russian morale was at an all time low. There are a lot of claims that Fomenko's theories are nothing more than ways of proving Russian legitimacy as the rightful owner to the entirety of Eurasia. It makes sense that a lot of Duginites love his works.
