No Kings is actually a significant step backward even from OWS, which was never that good in the first place. You don't have to wait for the US Democratic Party takeover of this movement because it is already astroturfed right out of the box. I'd say most modern mass movements are astroturfed. There are reasons for this.

1: To pre-empt the formation of an organic mass movement that actually challenges power violently

2: To create a honeypot where people can be tracked, monitored, framed, blackmailed

3: To "sheepdog" people back into the acceptable bourgeois-run institutions

4: To create the illusion of successful reforms which can be easily withdrawn or rolled back at a later date
