Either way. As of right now, Lula blows 'everyone' else out of the water.
But let's not get ahead of ourselves, he could still be systematically smeared and lightly couped (again), Bozo could potentially develop three (3) brain cells and go full populist up until the elections, or maybe big media shills Moro hard enough for him to receive otherwise nonexistent support.
Note that these are not mutually exclusive.

Guedes admits in Congress, during a House questioning of his offshore crap, that he uses his daughter's identity to dodge taxes. That's your daily reason for impeachment of a leftist.
https://nitter.ir/RdGuaibaOficial/status/1463162980242280456And I'm not joking when I say the shit they do daily would get a leftist impeached. Let's rewind a bit and look at Tapiocagate. It's not complicated at all, it was simply one of Lula's minister buying a tapioca snack worth 8.3 bananabux on taxpayer dime. That's it. There was no other crime being covered up, there was no ulterior motivation by the minister, nothing. It wasn't even a "hidden" charge or anything, it was charged to so-called corporate cards which high officials have, it's a fully pointless privilege but it's the exact opposite of illegal. It was enough for a witch hunt lasting weeks. It's worth pointing out that, besides being in Lula's time, that minister is black and belongs to a nominally communist party. There was no shortage of pundits and blowhards saying "it's not about the money, it's about the principle" and similar mendacious bullshit, and that has a huge overlap with the cunts who now say "what Bozo did wasn't
technically a genocide".

Brazilian media have been almost completely silent on the whole Facebook Papers thing. Not surprising, considering they're all pretty much in the same boat: normalizing reactionarism by degrading culture. All that shit I have been talking about for years, about weaponized infocalypse, a project for dumbing mankind down, porkies trying to freeze us all at the end of history, it's all there, on record, for all to see. And almost no one is seeing, because media doesn't want them to. As usual, non-corporate journalists are the only ones doing actual journalism in Brazil. Everyone else is a running dog which learned to walk on two legs and write.
https://www.nucleo.jor.br/fbpapers/This isn't just standard, run-of-the-mill propaganda for the American empire, or hushing away inconvenient questions about the Queen's tax evasion, all that's well past us. That's downright idyllic, because back then, things were stable. Not just in terms of economy or politics, but in terms of systems theory. This constant malfeasance was at a stable level, well within the bounds of hyperreality. They're thieves, we know they're thieves, they know we know they're thieves and so on, but the composite was a livable scenaio and everyone got on with their lives. Those times are over and not coming back. Now they're plundering the world and engaging in projects to steer the opinions of the masses wholesale. Porkies realized they have nothing to fear but their own intraclass rivalry, so they're uniting and going for broke.
Unsurprisingly, this happens at the same time the system itself has started clearly going downhill, representative democracy has run out of fuel, cultural production is as stagnant as cardboard box production and plenty of other morbid symptoms. Which are causes and which are consequences? Can they be both at the same time, feeding into each other? I think this isn't a satisfactory answer, because this sort of malignant feedback can occur at any time. This is all happening simultaneously. This is a wide-spectrum crisis. So I think it's better to see these symptoms not as individual factors nor as parts of a whole, but as different facets of the same jewel, if you forgive the undeservedly poetic turn of phrase. The same thing can be seen as very different things depending on the angle at which you look, to the point they're not even inseparable but different manifestations of the same thing. You can't remove a single facet from a jewel, and you can't have one of these crises without the rest. Tho I suppose I'm just rambling.
I blame Wikileaks. Yeah, weird, but I think they were the proverbial butterfly whose wingflap caused a hurricane. It was them who broke that stability of the old hyperreality. By showing objective proof that hyperreality bunk, they threw the whole thing out of whack. That's the genesis of the informational aspect of the crisis we're experiencing now, tho I suppose it would be more apt to call it the trigger, since the seed for this crisis was inherent in capitalism and/or industrial society. In any case, by exposing the hard truth, Wikileaks upped the ante and called bullshit on the owners of the world. It would have ended there if it had been stamped out like so many exposés were before, but Wikileaks started a trend which only kept growing. What started as revelation of the aforementioned royal tax evasion and covert CIA propaganda hijinx is now caricaturesque sociopathy and depravity, up to and including
a fucking podephilia island. At least I hope it's "up to". I mean, there was some evidence before, but hardly anyone ever heard about it and it was collectively deemed urban myth and rumors and disregarded as we continued on with our quit, hyperreal lives. Wikileaks' big innovation, I think, was in the semiotics? optics? memetics? it coupled to leaking. The act itself is obviously old, but Wikileaks turned it into an institution of sorts. Now there's evidence that everything we feared about our Dear Leaders and then some was true, and these facts can't just be blacked out because they came to
define public discourse. The Queen's tax evasion, that quaint pecadillo, was known by everyone and largely tolerated (hey, who never erased a zero or two, am I right?), but facts kept leaking and now porkies are a hair away from the monsters from They Live (unlike the older, simpler misdeeds, pedophilia, worldwide empoverishment, climate disaster etc. aren't exactly something the average joe can sympathize). I mean, when the fact that the owners of the world are connected to pedophile rings, that's the sort of thing which can't be disregarded, and tho obviously confronting them directly about it is extremely rare and gets hushed up, these things keep resurfacing, insinuating themselves into all the body politic.
Inevitably, we reach a crossroads. Those inconvenient facts can't be put away for good yet their permanent presence poisons everyone, like a miasma which keeps getting thicker. By some process which still requires study, this constant exposure of mounting crimes which go unpunished seem to degenerate society at large. Again, compare to the old way of things. The level of porkery and depravity was stable, as was the fight against those. Some of the culprits were caught here and there but the fight goes on and such. It was at tolerable levels. The real problem with all those revelations, you see, is that they went virtually completely unpunished. Hen there's a scandal, society expects some commensurate reply, so you got the occasional anti-corruption campaign and shit like that. The spikes in revelations were followed by spikes in (perceived) comeuppance, and stability held. Wikileaks opened Pandora's box, and let the ugly truths out. Well actually, they didn't really let out, people away from the borders of normiedom were familiar with the shit which goes on behind the backstage, and we in the far left know that more than anyone. But Wikileaks truly exposed it, put the information out there in such a manner which made contact with mainstream society and normiedom inevitable. So the revelations keeep piling up, yet there are no energic measure against them. No show trials, no purges, no such rituals to show the masses that everything has been corrected and they can go back to their hovels, because it involves all the most powerful rich fucks ever. It's not just a handful of them who slipped up and can be thrown under the bus, it's virtually all of them. The miasma only keeps getting thicker and harder to ignore. Now were all becoming increasingly aware we're livestock for monsters. It sounds idealistic, but I think it's an intuitive notion to conclude that this much unpunished evil can't possibly be good. When it was all tucked away, it coouldn't harm anyone, we kept living in hyperreal tranquility, but that has been made impossible.

>>>/leftypol_archive/484409>>>/leftypol_archive/484480The tldr is, he effectively suspended the State's entire role as enforcer of a civilizd social contract, allowing the worst elements of society (not just as in class, but also in sheer inhumanity) to rise to the top. The closest parallel I can think of is Russia post 1991, when the sudden disappearance of any regulating authority was swiftly followed by literal psychopaths stealing everything.
>>487021No, that's not it. The Brazilian person, the individual which makes up the masses, is a castaway. Adrift on the land, subsiting on local and temporary venues and migrating often as necessity dictates, serving a plantation owner during a cash crop boom, a dodgy contractor in a growing city, mining in hellish makeshift towns and so on. The migration decreased a lot thanks to urbanization, but the point remains: he's essentially rootless, and not out of choice. Eking out a meager existence disconnected from any collectivity, being exploited by various members of one hellish blob of every awful elite class in existence, and the State has almost always been just one more of those exploiters, either on national or local level. Alien to their own country, almost like Indians except not being hunted down. Usually. Common quips here is that Brazil might be many things, a country, a "collective of consumers", a State, "200 million suckers exploited by six banks" (a direct quote from Paulo Guedes, by the way) and many more, but it's not a nation.
One symbolic moment in our history, which I find particularly so in light of recent events, took place the day the republic was founded. A year before, slavery was abolished through maneuvers not unlike a blank coup, and the pissed-off plantation farmers made an actual such coup on the royal family. The opportunity to remove the aristocracy and directly take the reins of power showed itself and they took it. It was almost out of the blue, improvised to say the least, but when power is monopolized by a minuscule elite, these things can and do happen. How unplanned and opportunistic was the foundation of the republic? I think you can decude the answer if I say that this was our flag during its first four days. It wasn't made official simply because the first president-cum-generalissimo demanded a design which referenced the imperial flag because he himself was a monarquist. Seriously.
Anyway, the involved took to the streets of Rio, then capital, for a hip-hip-hooray celebration. The most well-known narration of the event, by an infinite margin, is that of one Aristides Lobo, a magistrate, politician, journalist and defender of republicanism for years prior. He was a relatively progressive liberal, which is why the strange circunstances didn't sit well with him. Of the celebration, he famously said (my translation): "The people watched it bestialized, baffled, surprised, knowing not what it meant. Many sincerely thought it was only a parade", implying here that it was just a street party, a festivity for its own sake. The masses were completely dettached from the political process, to the point the people in the very capital city, at a time when, in many ways, the capital itself was the country, had no idea of the momentous political events happening kilometers away from them. This quote was made famous by the "revolutionaries" of 1930, which cleverly used it as a rhetorical springboard to say that they were the ones bringing people into power and truly creating the republic, and, later on, was made part of standard national history schoolbooks. Since mass participation in poilitics is the inescapable fulcrum of modern politics, the situation changed, but not in any meaningful way. Arguably, the motive of the 1964 coup was the threat of the people finally becoming politically aware. Not even communist mobilization, miond you, it was Labor-style, but was decidedly popular. Land reform, workers' rights etc, all those things which, elsewhere, were the goals of bourgeois revolutions, here (and, I suppose, in the rest of the third world) have always been defended by the left against an elite hellbent on turning the country into one enormous plantation. Even the PT age, comparatively good as it was, made no strides in popular participation. If anything, the opposite happened, as PT neglected of its grassroot presence as it became a toothless institution, and we all paid dearly for it. Then came Car Wash and its media campaign and managed to finally accomplish what porkies have been trying ever since the French Revolution: completely dettach people from power while still keeping the illusion of democracy. I have been posting ad nauseam about how it feels like people regard the government as a kind of soap opera plot, something which they can only hear about but have no input whatseoever, and how every crime becomes omninormalized. The Brazilian people can hardly even be called conservative or whatever, because they're hardly a people. As far as the worst elite in the world is concerned, the masses are, at the most, incidental to politics, and now it's 100% a popularity contest.

Today's, Bozo was waving at drivers passing by on a road (I told you how desperate they are for anything for them to do or tot alk about), someone audibly called him a son of a bitch, so he ordered her to be arrested.
Whenever someone dares to bring up muh Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua or whatever, you tell them to eat shit. Meanwhile, the fucking massacre at Salgueiro was hardly mentioned outside of the newspaper crime section. All the pundits, commenters and other dungticks of information society were busy feigning outrage at the oppression in Nicaragua (whose rate of people murdered by State agents is less than half that of Rio metro area) and in Venezuela (whose elections are, unlike ours, deemed clean by international observers).
On that note: you guys have been telling these people to eat shit, right? I keep repeating this cliche about mistreating reactoids, but I'm sicnere in that sentiment. They must be mistreated. It's a basic step for abnormalizing their atavism and sociopathy. People must be taught how to hate those who deserve to be hated, and that starts with everyday things, like humiliating reactionary nitwits who dare voice their simian ideas in public. And those relatives and friends of yours who still ride Bozo's bandwagon? I'm sorry to say, but they're just plain horrible people, and it's perfectly fine to consider cutting them out of your life, unlike what some bleeding hearts say about "letting politics interfere with your life". Would that it would be as simple as politics. For a long time now, support for Bolsonaro is as close a thing as possible to an objective evidence of a bankrupt excuse for a person. If you consider all the people you personally know who still support him, some of them no doubt have been horrible to you too, but some of them still baffle you. They're considerate people who love you, and you know for a fact that they can be great people. Well I'm afraid that's just the whole truth. Even the most abominable monster can be a magnificent person to those they love, even if they're an atavist, a psychopath or just a morally bankrupt normal person. For all I know, the likes of Luciano Hang and Allan dos Santos are exemplary family men, yet they're unquestionably a burden on the human race. Maybe your beloved mom or dad turned out to be bolsonarist, despite you having known them to be great parents and the most trustworthy and honorable people you could imagine. Yet, if the chance presented itself, they would be gladly stealing mountains of public funds and condemning poor people and minorities to veiled or deliberate genocide. You're not surprised that, say, that one distant acquantaince of yours who did hard time for domestic violence turned out to be a hardcore Good Man and Bozo dicksucker, but you're flabbergasted at otherwise nice people revealing themselves to be comrades with the abuser. I wish I could say this is some strange phenomenon, a demonstration of the "complexity of the human soul" or a similar platitude, but I'm afraid it's horribly simple: they're bad people. Like I keep saying, atavists, unlike sociopaths/psychopaths, are perfectly capable of feeling empathy, yet their condition makes them limit that treatment to precious few ingroups of theirs. You were lucky your bolsonarist mom and dad loved you and seemed to be role models until a few years ago. These very same people who sacrificed much for you and moved mountains to make you happy would also sign the gas chamber order of whatever outgroup they hate without thinking twice. Not because any person can be driven to commit horrible things (itself a false canard of modern thought), but because they are and have always been fundamentally flawed people and you were fortunate enough not to witness them holding the power to abuse others for personal gain. The fascist is a creature of opportunity. That's the only thing separating your racist but otherwise exemplary dad from Ante Pavelic.

To any anons outside of Brazil, what is the consensus on Car Wash in your country? This pic here summarizes the state of affairs here in Brazil. Arguably our biggest print publication telling us that a NYT editorial against Moro does not represent the opinions of the NYT. Seriously, they're defending their golden boy by
running a disclaimer for another publication, and one which isn't even Brazilian.
As far as I can tell, literally the entire rest of the world is aware that it was, to put it mildly, a farse, and quite possibly the biggest juridical scandal in history. Yet the Brazilian media still insists on lionizing it, despite its irregular nature being objective fact. It's interesting to notice how the flow of information – a topic on which I talk constantly – plays into this. Although the media can still deny the revelations themselves, said revelations still forced them to dial their claims down a lot. They used to treat CW as a rousing success against corruption and Moro as an incorruptible judge, and this hagiography is no longer tenable. Naturally, they won't state the truth, yet the scale of the lies has died down. Nonetheless, they don't need to lie in order to disinform, so they have mostly been talking about Moro in an anodyne manner nonstop, the same way they have been doing about PSDB, once PT's rival and now a nearly insignificant party. Honestly, that's wise in their part. One of the first things I said in the wake of the Clowning in 2018 was that politics had become fully depoliticized, and elections turned into full-blown popularity contests, and thus, the winner of a given election is whomever has their name repeated the most times. I first meant this as a joke, but it seems horribly close to the truth, because popularity, after all, is not based on facts, and there are an infinitude of ways to become popular without doing anything actually worthwhile. Bozo's campaign in 2018 definitely had the trappings of a consumer fad. In the early part of his term, when I still foolishly believed that the "opposition" media wanted him to be cast down, I bemoaned in these here thread, "aren't they aware that them incessantly taking lame potshots at him only make him popular? There's hardly such a thing as negative press anymore, and so long as you're not saying he rapes babies or some shit, the more you talk about him, th more familiar people unconsciously feel with him, and now, that directly translates into more votes".
I now know that the "opposition" media was well aware of that, they just didn't want to hit him too hard, or else the left would benefit from it, and they didn't have literally anyone to champion as the non-leftist alternative to Bozo for the simple fact that literally everyone outside of the left supported him. 3 horrible years later tho, it's time to build up their next champion, so they just plain ignore their role in Bolsonaro's support. So they can't quite praise him openly as he did, yet they have no one else, thus we get a barrage of """""unbiased""""" articles and endless updates about whatever the fuck he had for breakfast. Just repeating his name as often as possible while downplaying, spinning or downright ignoring both his juridical crimes and his support for Bozo, as in pic related.

The Senate just approved some sub-bill thing which makes the kilomensalão's completely opaque list of beneficiaries official. Seriously. That pork barrel fest which spent God knows how many hundreds, if not thousands, times more than the mensalão was legalized. That's billions worth of federal budget whose recipients will be completely unknown to the public. I suppose the federal oversight offices would still have access to that data, but that wouldn't mean much in Brazil, and it's downright worthless now that Bozo stuffed his cronies everywhere.
And both houses of Congress flat-out ignored the STF's order to reveal the list of beneficiaries. The same cunts who spent years manufacturing a factoid in order to impeach a president for following the letter of the law can simply disregard a Supreme Court regulation like that.
A few notes.
1) this absurd laxity when it comes to misdeeds of public agents is part of those mechanisms of bougie democracy which I so often mention. It's patently absurd that someone can go to jail for an attempted theft, yet attempted and successful violations of criminal law, as well as oaths of office go completely unpunished. It's the sort of thing which allows Bozo to keep trying different ways to make a coup until he succeeds, and it would still stand true even if the entire rest of government weren't looking the other way. There simply must be punishment to crimes, bad faith and general incompetence of public servants. This is something which Porky is likely to sqeual at anywhere, but which will make him go apopletctic here, since government jobs with some measure of authority have long been the privilege of the worst elite in the world. Attempts to apply simple principles of personal accountability to public offices is likely to meet fierce opposition here.
2) Besides the deliberate degeneration of any and all civilized things, the officialized corruption is in itself a tactic of political survival. Part of clintelism (does this term exist in English?) is to make it clear to Porky that he has to keep Bozo in power for his gravy train to continue. Since his attempts at an open coup keep failing, he has to assemble the pieces for something more subtle. Thus the administrative reform, gun deregulation, apparating (I'm really at a loss as to a proper translation into English of aparelhamento, damn Germanic languages are little more than grunts and howls) etc etc and this clientelism. It's hardly limited to Brazil, but we are probably witnessing the biggest iteration of that bullshit in history. The already-bankrupt political class is now being showered with untold billions in pork barrel, comfy jobs and an unknown amount of other gifts, so why would they even consider letting a filthy commie (I know) in? At best (from their point of view) he would just keep on doing this.
3)And if our elite already was the worst one in the world to the point they dragged us to this abyss, you can imagine the new depths it can reach now that it's becoming even worse. Even if Lula, by some miracle, is allowed to run, win and even govern, he will merely postpone the next coup and/or inevitable reckoning unless he adopts a confrontational stance.
4) STF will do literally nothing about this blatant violation of their authority. They more than anyone, save maybe for the "opposition" media, has been putting up a farsical resistance to the clown-in-chief.
5) You can buy rifle parts, among other things, rather easily. Gone are the days when you had to descend to the darknet for it, now you can find them on Telegram or even normie networks. Not that I'm telling you to arm up but yes I am.

The minister of education openly said that he thought of defrauding the nationwide public university exam because he could, but only didn't do so because it would be more trouble than it would be worth it. Seriously, he just plain confessed to having no morals whatsoever. Only practical considerations, exactly like I keep saying of atavists. And the press, as always, does not give this the coverage it deserves. I honestly don't know if the brazen hipocrisy is deliberate or not. It definitely is in Bozo's case, as per Olavo's instructions, but it becoming a standard tool of the worst elite in the world is a dreadful prospect.
Which reminds me, Moro's recently-released book is also an admission of guint. He gloats about accusing Bozo of more crimes, except that he himself was fucking minister of justice when he witnessed them, or, even worse, was an accomplice to the very crimes he mentions. And, again, media does not give this the treatment it deserves.
I have been saying that one of the central morbid symptoms here is that people have become dependent on MSM not just for their information, but for their interpretation of that information. People have lost the capacity to judge facts. If the news anchor reads out a good news with an angry, accusatory tone, people would get it in their heads that it's actually a crime. And MSM are using it to normalize flat-out crime. It's a truism that a society which loses the capacity to analyze facts loses the capacity to self-perpetuate i.e. it's a society on the way to (even bigger) disaster.

The most important political statement in weeks is Lula, today, saying he will end Temer's policy of using the international price of oil for the internal market. It's possibly the most clear and straightforward single scheme of upwards transfer of wealth. And that's precisely why media will not talk about it.
Keep this in mind: the far right is able to manipulate mass media because the latter is designed to not tell the truth. The veracity of any single discrete datum which mass media spreads bears zero co-relation with its importance or with the coverage it receives. Information is absolutely central in this crisis, and thus, tackling the distribution of information is central to ending it.

Addendum to make it crystal-clear that the media being manipulated is not at all a hapless abuse victim. Its class interests converge perfectly with those of the far right, any disagreements are purely due to the individual interests of the media barons. More to the point, they would gladly be manipulated by the right than actually tell the truth. Due to their shared class interests, actually standing up to the far right by telling the truth would immediately rob media of its power to manipulate it. QED. If viewed as a system of punishments and rewards, bourgeois society is undergoing a catastrophic failure.

In previous threads, I mentioned how the circus has adopted a phony new way of measuring unemployment rates which allows them to inflate the number of created jobs. They often touted the sum of 142k created jobs in 2020, itself a pathetic result when the amount of unemployed people would remain above 14m people. A month ago, almost a year after that, they "corrected" themselves, saying the amount of created jobs was actually 75k. A couple of days ago, they corrected themselves again, saying the country actually lost 191k throughout 2020.
No tactic is too low for them. By definition, you cannot win against someone who breaks any and all rules of the game and still suffers nothing because of it.

The head Representative has dug up a bill which is the most blank-coup-ish such measure so far, under the guise of combating that old favorite, ill-defined bogeymen of reactoids everywhere, terrorism.
https://www.camara.leg.br/proposicoesWeb/fichadetramitacao?idProposicao=2194587It's one of a gorillion totes-not-authoritarian bills drafted by the scum but which had been gathering dust – this particular bullshit was introduced in 2019. Sadly, it seems I was right when I said the circus has been picking up the pace of their bullshit, as the bolsolão cemented the direct financial reward of legislators for approving Bozo's bills.
The crucial provisions in the bill are:
- giving the executive branch the power to declare which manifestation is or isn't legal (it's bad enough as it currently is, with this power in the hands of the judiciary branch) and, even worse, to declare organizations as terroristic
- "excludente de ilicitude", a blatant measure of a state of exception which more or less makes police forces legally immune (this is another one of the many bullshit proposal of fucking Moro, currently being hailed by the near entirety of MSM as the reincarnation of Cincinnatus)
- creates a new police force directly under the president's command (in addition to the currently existing information agency created by Temer), which requires no further comments.
Approving this creates a dictatorship in all but name, pure and simple, and I would like to point out that this is incredibly appropriate to this age of omninormalization, where you can get away with anything, so long as you don't openly state you did it. Each one of those 3 key provisions would be horrible by itself, but you mix the 3 and then add the completely "apparatused" State, and there you go, Brazil breaks the historical record for despot with the lowest autism score. And it's inconceivable that the head Representative isn't aware of this, even as he scheduled a vote of urgency for this bill. Mercifully, it didn't pass, but the bill itself can still surface at any time. In previous threads, I mentioned a previous coup attempt in the form of a bill which all but legalized militias, which was approved swiftly under the auspices of the heads of both chambers, and was only stopped by STF, which, it should be said, was among the few among Bozo's handlers who would be under risk by that. This current bill, however, poses no risk to the STF, so don't count on them to do anything in case it's approved.
So I'm reposting this old screencap of mine from early on, when a coup seemed almost imminent. Since then, the odds of Bozo pulling a coup have waved up and down like a fucking sine wave drawn by a spastic kid, and now are arguably at an all-time high. If any of you is politically active and involved with any leftist groups, I strongly suggest you tell them to, at least, encrypt their sensitive data, espcially membership data, multiple times over and create a fake volume to further disguise it, then literally burn the originals. On the one hand, the ineptitude of the circus has no limit (I'm honestly surprised they didn't take the opportunity of September 7th to at least kill a few enemy operatives because, well, it's what I would have done), but on the other, clown world. Anything is possible, and the dumber, the more likely.

Lula really seems obsessed with the idea of a movie-like personal redemption. Unfortunately, an entire country stands to lose when that fails to happen. Talks with PSB to have Alckmin as his veep are making advances.
A recap, first. Alckmin is likely one of the architects of the 2016 and lavajatismo, possibly the main architect. Soon after Dilma was out, one of the 3 main leader of PSDB (then PT's rival and the one who supposedly stood to gain from its fall) fell from grace face-first. He had been a media darling until then (as PSDB in general was) so I conjectured that the leaders were now in an internal war for the spoils of PT's carcass. I turned out to be correct, as the second leader left the political stage rather quietly afterwards, because of some scandal which the media almost ignored. The remaining leader, Alckmin, indeed went on the become PSDB's presidential candidate in 2018, but their masterplan turned out to be too efefctive and Bozo swept the election by, among other things, laying claim to the anti-PT label which Alckmin didn't take. Thus the man who might have been the primary culprit of our current sad state not only had his lighnting stolen by a literally who, but ended up in 4th, and PSDB was reduced to one more small party, it's up-and-coming leaders now fighting over control of that tiny fiefdom. Alckmin himself literally cried in the PSDB meetings which followed the election and left the party.
Alckmin is now almost a lame duck, because as far as I can tell, all he has is name recognition in the state of São Paulo, which he and PSDB have governed for ages. It's certainly an asset, but the size of that asset after the 2018 fracas is highly debatable. Outside of his state, he's pretty much a nullity now. And of course, the actual issue with him, by a huge margin, is his role in the entire tragedy we face today. Moro had the pivotal role, naturally, but it's been clear for at least a few years that he might be knowledgeable about law, but absolutely nothing else, and rather dull-witted to boot. He couldn't have masterminded lavajatismo by himself, and at any rate, being a first-tier judge, he didn't have anywhere near the power to get the ball rolling on his own. PSDB, tho, had the power, including their preferential treatment from the press, which went on to be a critical ally of CW, and the leadership had the smarts. Considering Alckmin came out on top of that internal dispute, he's prime suspect for being
the biggest culprit for the entire shitshow we now call a country. And that's the man which Lula seems to want as his veep.
Just in case my overwrought prose didn't deliver the point: he might be Lex Luthor to Lula's Superman. Lula may be uneducated, but he's not stupid. It's inconceivable that he doesn't know this. He most likely knew this right at the time events unfolded considering his connections, long before us mortals made these connections. And he still wants Alckmin.
Considering his base isn't much these days, and he's directly responsible for all of this, possibly the main culprit, I really can't see any reason for Lula to seek him,
unless Lula considers Alckmin's role to somehow be a plus, thanks to whatever delusion he might be nurturing. I often used the term "Lula's redemption" in these threads, and the bastard seems to have taken that too damn literally and seems to be seeking a Hollywood-style happy-ending. Maybe he envisions
The Curitiba Redemption or some shit, I don't know, I really can't see any other explanation. He's not egotistical in the traditional sense of the word, but as someone here pointed out, PT has a long history of expelling or driving away dissenters, especially those who criticized Lula for his lack of radicalism – at least 3 extant parties were created by PT exiles. Add to that his obsession with conciliation and his awareness of his historical role, and I say it's safe to diagnose him with protagonist syndrome. Egomania is far from the only disorder of the ego, after all. Hell, maybe he has a martyr syndrome and expects to be betrayed, at this point it's quite likely he would accept Moro or Bozo as his veep in the name of a nonexistant national reconciliation.
And while Lula is being all hippie and shit, Moro just said he wants to create a permanent CW-like court. Yes, make the state of exception he created permanent. This is a dictatorial power grab, make no mistake, and the people backing him all came from Bozo's bandwagon, and let's be real, they all expected the latter to stage a coup and were disappointed. They're now looking for another, better shot at a coup.

Last year, I think, Bozo's circus was considering relaxing the restrictions on the sale of food past its expiration date. Seriously. Well, today I learned this is an actual proposal by the food industry porkies. As in, they want this, which is crime, to stop being a crime. Simple as that.
https://economia.uol.com.br/noticias/redacao/2021/12/06/data-de-validade-alimentos-nao-pereciveis-proposta-mudanca.htmI hate to keep referring back to the things I myself said, but we're stuck in a merry-go-round of inhumanity. In this case, the operative terms are degeneration of civilization and inversion of moral values. They want to decriminalize something for the sake of fucking profit. How can this be called anything but
evil? This is just plain evil, it's the ruling class legalizing their own misdeeds. And perhaps the most insidious part is how this is treated normally, both by the marketing wizards of the industry in question and the press which has learned, since the success of lavajatismo, the absurd power of mass media today. It's cultural fascism.

All the higher-ups in Bozo's pocket are part of this gonzo effort to assemble a coup by any means, but the Congress base itself isn't. I mean, if Bozo did stage a coup and succeeded, I have zero doubt that most of the current Congress would support him, but right now, they're not in on the conspiracy itself. Most of them are crooks selling their votes and lining their pockets. The question is, how many of them who support Bozo are part of it and how many haven't been brought into that fold? If the circus manages to recruit enough, they might just stage something.

As reformas pelas quais o
2)É realmente um problema lei do legislativo alterar orgão do legislativo? me parece o correto e esperado

>>487343We don't have a similar history. Our
sui generis history explains a lot about us, including that. We never had a break with the past.
I think we started to diverge from the norm of other American colonies thanks to old man Napoleon. Back in 1807, Portugal remained a British ally (fun fact: this pact is the oldest diplomatic treaty still in place) and thought it were safe since the seas were British and Spain had become neutral. The latter had been Napoleon's ally until that caused their once-famous armada to be decimated, so Portugal figured Spain had little motive or capacity to help the French again. They were wrong. Napoleon made another alliance with Spain, this time to carve up Portugal, the kind of offer it absoluely never refused. So the British cooked up one of those daring, innovative schemes of theirs: relocate the Portuguese royal family and court to their American colonies and let the European plebs fight the war on their own. Soon enough, they officially uplifted Brazil to the status of an equal partner of Portugal in a united kingdom – it would be uncouth for a royal house to rule from some podunk frontier territory after being run out of their kingdom, after all. That's when we started getting the first accoutrements of an actual country.
(This is arguably when the UK started fleecing Portugal for good, pretty much taking military control of the European homeland and squeezing all sorts of treaties from the fugitive aristocrats, including an infamously terrible free trade deal. Under the guise of a nice partnership between equals, the UK removed all taxes from Portuguese wine, a commodity whose production was naturally limited, whereas Portugal did the same for clothes which the British were producing in obscene amounts thanks to that little thing called the Industrial Revolution. Thanks to Napoleon's whims and/or the yellow streak of the Portuguese bluebloods, the tiny country which was well-placed to hop in early on the industrial bandwagon became a British stooge and put off its development for ages.)
Eventually, after Napoleon was defeated and the British puppets overthrown, a liberal revolution led the royal family – and the entire contents of the National Bank's safes they founded in Brazil – back home. John VI left his heir-apparent as regent. Part of the whole liberal thing was to reduce Brazil back to a colony, whose exploitation rights would be exclusive to the their European metropolis, and the native Brazilian elite didn't feel like giving up the good life of which they just had a taste. So barely a year after John left, they convinced the young regent to declare independence both from the metropolis and from daddy in 1822, styling himself Peter I. To say this was rushed would be an understatement, yet the creation of the republic decades later made this look like a solemn saga of national determination. In any case, the war of independence consisted mostly of retaking the territory farther away from the seat of power, Rio, whose garrisons and governments didn't agree with the sudden change in management. It wasn't a particularly bloody nor disruptive affair. Various legitimate rebellions which sprung up here and there were much more serious.
Still, you can see the continuiy going on here. The unique royal exile to a colony, and the sudden proclamation of independe by the heir of Portugal itself made for virtually no break with the past. There wasn't much motive for animosity between colony and metropolis in this weird nation-building. And the weirdness went on, alright. After his old man died, Peter I of Brazil abdicated his throne and set sail for Portugal as well and took part in a war of sucession, in which he emerged victorious as Peter IV of Portugal.

Bozo cancelled his trip to Argentina a little while ago for the Mercosur summit because Lula would be there at the time for some big celebration on Democracy Day – anniversary of the democratic restoration. He attended remotely. A wise decision, because Lula (and Pepe Mujica as well) was treated like a fucking rockstar.
https://twitter.com/brasildefato/status/1469672952262275083Incidentally, I would like to point out the apparent value of this celebration against the end of dictatorship in keeping the topic of a new dictatorship from surfacing in Argentinian public debate. Compare and contrast to us, who not only don't celebrate it, but also gave amnesty to all the culprits, and now we pay the price. It's one of those non-material factors which decidedly has an impact on society, and which the left has to take into account in all matters.

A hallmark of The Bozo Shitshow has been a complete and deliberate disregard for basic clerical duties. It's what I used to talk about all those small things we took for granted were never there in the first place, and how the right has decided to violate all those norms. This was a crucial part of the COVID disaster, in which lobbyists – fuck, I can't even call them lobbyists, they were just powerful people who were in with the circus on ingratiated themselves in the process – ran a genocide for fun and profit. One of those norms we never think about is the isolation between a public office's professional and private life, as in, they should avoid councel from random people and instead rely on other public officers, elected or not. Part of the point of that is accountability in case things go wrong, and as I just mentioned, it didn't exist at all, people just acted as if it did. Nonetheless, this bill is supposed to do something in light of that
fucking genocide. The catch: this bill would only come into effect a week after the 2022 elections. Seriously, they're completely shameless. The bill itself is rather crap too and may provide legal backing for the circus' constant classification of any inconvenient document.

A esquerda é a única força civilizatória neste país.

Some pork barrell scheme during PT's time to get bills approved. It was peanuts compared to the usual scandal, involved somewhere between 50-150m in pork barrel as opposed to theft, but it was a centerpiece of the anti-PT campaign. Well, Congress made Bozo's scheme of transferring BILLIONS in pork barrel legal and STF just gave them their a-okay. The presidency buying votes is legal now, tho I think a better way tod escribe is Congress holding governability hostage.
Also, compare and contrast with Dilma's "pedaladas", the centerpiece of her impeachment. Media wouldn't shut up about it despite it being legal (due to a badly written law) and used by all her predecessors and even the acting presidents when she travelled out of the country, and exactly two days after she was impeached, Congress passd a bill which explicitly made those "pedaladas" legal. Two fucking days.

>The Confederados in Brazil (Portuguese pronunciation: [kõfedeˈɾadus]) is the Portuguese-translated name used to define all American Confederates and their descendants who live in Brazil. The immigration process of American Confederates began after the end of the American Civil War, and was encouraged by the Emperor of Brazil, Dom Pedro II. The Confederados fled American abolitionism and hoped to be able to continue their lifestyle of slavery in Brazil.
>The aim was to settle and stimulate cotton production in the Empire of Brazil. It is estimated that up to 20,000 American Confederates emigrated to the Empire of Brazil from the Southern United States after the American Civil War. Initially, most settled in the current state of São Paulo, where they founded the city of Americana, which was once part of the neighboring city of Santa Bárbara d'Oeste. The descendants of other Confederados would later be found throughout Brazil.
>The center of Confederado culture is the Campo Cemetery in Santa Bárbara d'Oeste, where most of the original Confederados from the region were buried. Because of their Protestant religion, they established their own cemetery. The Confederado community has also established a Museum of Immigration at Santa Bárbara d'Oeste to present the history of Brazilian immigration and highlight its benefits to the nation.
>The descendants still foster a connection with their history through the Fraternity of American Descendants, a descendant organization dedicated to preserving the unique mixed culture. The Confederados also have an annual festival, called the Festa Confederada which is dedicated to fund the Campo Cemetery. The festival is marked by Confederate flags, traditional dress of Confederate uniforms and hoop skirts, food of the American south with a Brazilian flair, and dances and popular music in the American south during the antebellum period.
