I don’t know if there is a word for it but whenever there is piece of media where there are two characters who are the same sex and are best “Friends” and ONLY friends according to the people who created them despite the fact that in many examples like with Bert & Ernie or Mordecai and Rigby they suspiciously sleep in the same room although they sleep in two different beds 5 feet apart because they’re not gay. Often one of them will have a shoehorned in love interest that was put in by the creator to prove to conservative parents that they are not gay like for example Charlie Brown, Margret, Whatever the name of the lady who Mike Wazowski is dating is, or Jenny von Westphalen. But basically whenever this happens in media Straight people always joke about these characters being gay and stuff and I was wondering if Gay people find this to be annoying or if they also think it’s funny, or if they actually wish it was true depending on the characters?
