One doesn‘t diminish the other. That‘s just a fallacy of class reductionist white socialists who hate progressivism for the same reason their right wing counter part wants nothing to hear about it. It‘s not that minorities lack class consciousness at the cost of adopting „idpol“, they simply don‘t have class consciousness while being aware and discontent with superstructural. One doesn‘t exclude the other and you are framing it this way to arrive at your desired conclusion of not talking about secondary contradictions at all. Gaining class consciousness, which is necessary, does not do away with their complaints and investment in superstructural phenomena. What drives those complaints is whites perpetuating racism, heteroes perpetuating queerphobia and men perpetuation misogyny. It‘s a logical and inevitable consequence that class reductionist socialists skip over to pin the blame solely on minorities.

People rally around identity/tribe/etc. when they feel like there's some sort of threat. Reduce the threat and people won't do it as much. It's why terrorist groups target random people for belonging to a particular ethnic group of religion, they want people from that community to retaliate against members of another community to polarize people. At the end of the day you have to kill/jail/drive out the terrorists who are doing that.
