What is your stance on the Holodomor?
Every leftist seems to have a strong stance on the Holodomor and whether or not it is a genocide. In my opinion I think it was definitely man made and 100% Stalins fault but I don’t think it was a genocide because it was done as a means to crush the Ukrainian independence movement rather than an act of racial hatred. Still I think it was not justified and it should be seen as an example of what not to do for future leftists. I still think it is dumb when capitalists use this event to condemn communism because nowhere in the communist manifesto does it say that you have to starve three million Ukrainians. Also I understand why you wouldn’t want to erect more but I also think it is dumb to tear down most Stalin statues because of this, but if you do than you should probably tear down Winston Churchill statues because he starved 3 million Bengalis. Also I think it is deplorable when people compare this to the holocaust.

Yeah, it was stalins fault for going to ukraine and eating all the grain, then trampling over ukrainian peasant homes with his giant inflated belly

Sure if you read Robert Conquest, you might as well get into the theory of humors if you want to talk about medicine. However the current scientific consensus among historians is that the famine was caused by a weather event + mismanagement. The push for the genocide narrative is political and doesn't survive scrutiny.

holodomor was the last of a series of cyclical famines, SOMEHOW the tsars never get blamed for these prior famines, but the government that PERMANENTLY ended the famines does get blamed.

Kulaks should not have sabotaged their grain in protest against collectivisation, if your 'ethnicity' revolves around being a landlord i will happily cleanse it.

It didn't happen and if it did happen it was based

Not an intentional famine. It was a bureaucratic oversight though I imagine many high ranking Soviets were lmao'ing at the result. Even the best liberal historians can't go beyond this.

(me)
Oh yes and we can't forget that the kulaks did indeed burn the grain and waste of animals.

the eternal kulak never learns

>Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the destruction of agricultural products banned from import into Russia, effective August 6, 2015. This initiative was previously proposed by Agriculture Minister Alexander Tkachev.

>The document outlines methods for the disposal of fats, cheeses, vegetables, and fruits. It also addresses the issue of destroying meat products, the disposal of which could harm the environment.

>As a citizen, I'm also horrified by situations where normal, unexpired food products are buried. But from a retailer's perspective, things are a little different. A retailer keeps accounting records, and by all accounts, it's much easier for them to write off an item—say, milk—that's about to expire than to rush to donate it to a charity within a few days. First, they won't be able to include all their expenses in this donation; second, they'll have to pay a ton of taxes; and third, they'll be told that charity can only be done with profit. It's all very complicated and very expensive. The foundation of any business is the retailer's desire to make a profit, and that's perfectly normal. If they want to do charity work, they'll have to buy all these products out of their own pocket and give them away—and if we're talking about tons of food, such an action is simply nonsense. - Vladimir Ionkin, Deputy Executive Director of the Association of Retail Companies

what I always found funny abt turning Stalin into a great historical villain to blame for everything is that all the random CPSU bureaucrats who did the actual mismanagement basically get off scot-free. I'd wager 20 dollars USD a bunch of the people who made the famine worse than it had to be through there own incompetence and opportunism were clapping at the secret speech.

I guess stalin mind controlled the kulaks to burn their own grain and slaughter their own livestock.

The bureaucratic oversight was not recognizing the class character of the kulaks and trying to negotiate with them.

I don't. Not my problem.
