anyone else completely fucking terrified of psychedelics? its probably one of the top 3 worst experiences to have irl
youre corrupting your brain to the point of causing multiple "glitches", not just to sight and sound, but also to your basic senses of perception, which can cause you to believe, or feel, things that make absolutely no sense, like that your bodys made out of sand, or that you were transported to a goblin dimension. mind you, your brain is your *only* tool of navigation in this world, by tampering with it you are left completely powerless.
idk, ive always hated the feeling of derealization. i always want to feel grounded to reality, i feel unsafe if i fly away in my own thoughts for too long. for instance, when i was a kid i had this crazy fear, which reminds me alot of psychedelics, basically, i was scared of walking to another room and suddenly things starting to glitch for no fucking reason, like a spear just went through my brain and suddenly all my senses got fucked up, or maybe reality really just broke apart, and things get all fucked up, like i fall through the floor, things become incredibly loud and bright and completely unrecognizable, i hear distant voices, people i know turn to demons, so on and so on… maybe thats what turns me away from drugs.

are you also terrified of dreams?

I once took an edible that was too strong and had the most hellish experience of my entire life and then spent the next like six months anxious and traumatized and getting anxiety attacks. So I'm never gonna take psychedelics because they can do shit that's way worse.

never took psychedelics specifically but i do have derealization and "irl glitches" while completely sober, obviously on a much lesser scale than a true trip would be like but more than "average people" report
psychedelics don't interest me that much i guess

I think you can have the same experience as psychadelics by lucid dreaming and it is free and requires no drug ingestion.

Dreams are not similar to psychedelics at all.

Dreams can be scary, which is what makes it exciting.

have you ever had a scary lucid dream though?
in my experience they are completely safe, compared to waking life they're basically playgrounds and even if you try to hurt yourself you still don't feel anything despite the realistic image

They are scary more often than not for me. The non scary ones are usually kind of boring and just like white rooms and fields and kind of interesting forest skyscraper ruins to explore.

But often I am in a dark house and people are shouting and coming for me from another room so I kind of have to outplay them but the house is randomly generated basically. Then when they find me they are a geometric demon and I start screaming and it becomes a lucid nightmare where I am just trapped, unable to breathe in the geometric demon's domain or in bed as it looks at me from another room knowing if it comes in it will kill me.

Ok but like can we talk about how good normal dreams can be tho. These are the ones where you can make decisions in them but like you are in character for the entire time and you don't realise its a dream. I have used these for writing ideas so many times and like they are like good films or books.

Don't be a square lmao

>when i was a kid i had this crazy fear
i sometimes thought about ship of theseus and if my consciousness would disappear the next moment or it had already changed at some point

this sounds dire. maybe try a cleansing ritual https://www.angelfire.com/sc/WebGoddess/Pages/clensingritual.html https://ambrosiasrealms.tripod.com/protection.htm
i usually use something similar to the ball of light spell, but with the light extending from myself and while chanting "aah" on exhale, or sometimes i imagine i'm on an axis of light

Sybau and eat these shrooms my uygha

Years ago friend gave me buch of shrooms, and I still havent taken anything more than microdose, because I read you need to be in good headspace to have a pleasant trip, and I never am.

>a lucid nightmare where I am just trapped
interesting, never had a lucid nightmare at all… do you have to "force" yourself into a lucid nightmare like you would do a normal lucid dream or how do you get one?

>These are the ones where you can make decisions in them but like you are in character for the entire time and you don't realise its a dream.

i wish i remembered those, most of the time they're either something incredibly banal or just embarassing ;-;

dreams are a different thing. i'd much rather have a nightmare where im being chased by a monster than a completely unrecognizeable trip that i have 0 control over

>i sometimes thought about ship of theseus and if my consciousness would disappear the next moment or it had already changed at some point
i used to think abt that too, but about other people. like i'd stare at my mother and she didnt really "feel" like the same person that was there yesterday, or the day before, like everyday people would "reset" while maintaining the same memories, but it was all fake

OP wouldn't know since he's never used them. That's why he can't come up with a good reason for why psychedelics are supposed to be uniquely scary.
