I'm not sure if this would be the right board but,,, what's a good quick and efficent way of learning a language yourself? I've been trying to learn Russian for 2 years now and all I have are some common phrases I've picked up from by bfs family and also words I don't really need from Duolingo. I have the reading level of a struggling year 1 student and I've even tried online Russian tutors, Russian music and media and more but I can't really stick it in my head. Any help would be apprecaited :)
It’s no use just give up, when I was a teenager my American westoid ass once tried to learn German which is extremely close to English btw and I failed, WHY THE FUCK DO I NEED TO KNOW WHAT GENDER PIZZA IS?!?! Then after I was radicalized I tried to learn Spanish so by the time I was an adult I could travel to the Florida Keys, hijack a boat, and sail to Cuba. I gave up after 2 days.
Engage engage engage, it doesn't matter if you speak stupid different teutch dialect
You make mistakes you make mistakes, watch media in the language or dialect you're trying to learn
Buy introductory textbooks, buy a few dictionaries, maybe take some classes if you need to
>>726493Study the grammar and alphabet, vocabulary isn't enough unless you're immersed in the culture which is then only good for vocal comprehension and speaking not reading and writing
>>726493Dont try to learn it, acquire it, go get stranded in the country where the language you want to learn is spoken and you will become proficient guaranteed. Either that or watch every movie and video in the language you want to learn you can find with no subtitles on to translate.
Get drunk with Russians.
