If anything you'd guess the comic is poking fun at that world view. 33 isn't even old, median age in the US is like 39yo. Pop-history books are on the same slop tier as youtube video essays, they're supposed to be as "informative" and as entertaining as each other. The only thing that makes me hesitate to consider this a joke is that political analysis of children's cartoons is no way to spend your time indeed.
