Obviously it’s obvious why Spanish Chuds like Franco because Spain transitioning from Fascism to Liberal Democracy instead of Socialism was a mistake because liberals can’t use minorities as a scapegoat for the terrible material conditions that capitalism causes when Fascism can. Because of this Socialism is the only thing that can beat fascism but liberals won’t let that happen. But still the reason why I feel a little bit shocked about Zoomer Spaniards liking Franco is that I thought that unlike German Zoomers don’t these kids literally have grandparents who lived under this regime? As much as I hate liberal democracy I feel like fascism is worse.
Unfortunately, many of those grandparents are probably chuddy themselves now. They may have thought differently while they were living in the era but ever since neo-liberal Spain has raped the country to a point where the quality of life is now worse than it was in the francoist era you now have people looking back and thinking "Huh, maybe things weren't that bad after all." even if francoist Spain set in motion the hyper-capitalist, neo-liberal state that Spain is currently in. They can't comprehend that a socialist state would be better because they have no example to compare it to (in their country).
