I hear some leftists say that the solution is to bad guns because if there are not guns then there will be no shootings. But I also here other leftists say that the working class needs guns to protect socialism and that under communism there will free healthcare so nobody will be mentally ill enough to do a mass shooting and that they will use guns responsibly. What do you think?

In my opinion, this can only be minimised. Any theoretical way to make it impossible is more destructive than worth.
I believe that guns are, and always will be, accessible to a determined normal person. That doesn't imply that barriers to access are useless - they save lives. But at the end of the day, I suspect most people could buy or construct a gun if they were motivated enough.
Honestly, it would probably be easier and less suspicious to create more destructive weapons than a gun. The bottom line is: how do we reduce armed serial violence. That necessitates understanding why people commit it, which will lead to further quesitons, like:
<How do we prevent, detect and treat antisocial behaviour?
<How do we counter harmful cults?
These will inevitably and repeatedly raise the old dichotomy of security and liberty. People could discuss (or if you're an impulsive idiot, debate) all of these forever, but I think it's most important to understand that liberalist universal rules are not an adequate solution.
