Another day wishing I wasn't so cringe
inb4 "you need to embrace the cringe" and so forth
wrong
>>734993If you want to stop being cringe, you can stop avatar-fagging as a loli for a start. You should probably stop watching that shit in general, at the very least it's not helping you.
>>734998>stop watching anime because it’s cringeI’m sorry but do you forget where you are?
Also, sorry to tell you but anime is popular and there’s nothing cringe about it
>>735000Or keep digging in the same hole I guess. Maybe that'll work.
>>735003I’m not OP but you’re on an imageboards no?
You’re in the same boat
>>735005Only for the lefty part and I like the anonymity thing. I only got into imageboards when they became politically relevant in 2016. Still not into 4chan. I don't really like "imageboard culture" (read 4chan culture.) I'm glad this place got dechanned somewhat over the years.
Anyways, watch your cringy moe shit. I don't care, just answering OP's question. I think a lot of people find it really repulsive just as myself, but your vibe defines your tribe and all that.
>>734993Maybe that's your answer OP, find people whose cringe matches your own.
>>735007>Cringey Moe shitAnime isn't dependent on imageboards for relevance you know.
And unfortunately, this place is anything but dechanned.
>>735015It's cringe when you look like that, but you could probably style it nicely if you look good. It's a pretty cool shirt
>>735018Just be good looking
I wish I was more cringe. I wasted by 20s being afraid of becoming some kind of lolcow and ruining my life only to wind up depressed, friendless and unemployed anyway without even having a funny story as to why.
Meanwhile other people are out there being non-passing transgender therians wearing a tail and collar to the store. I quietly stalk their twitter accounts and even when their lives are a mess I feel nothing but jealousy. I read lolcow threads as a form of escapism. I tell myself if I could do it over I'd join them and the only thing I now dream of is doing so in my 30s, an awkward age where everyone already had their social circle and where it's getting a bit weird to interact with people in their 20s.
The combination of autism with just enough self awareness to avoid embracing it temporarily is a real joke of a character roll.
>>735043>an awkward age where everyone already had their social circle and where it's getting a bit weird to interact with people in their 20s. Bruh seriously?
C'mon now, stop being so age-sensitive it's not like they're underage
>>735067i mean 30 to 28 is nothing, 30 to 10 is a full 1/3 of a life, not even out of college vs a decade in work.
>>735068Most people begin working in their twenties. Not everyone spends their twenties purely in college.
Besides, thirty to twenty isn't that big of deal.
>>735067the age gap nonsense is being pushed so that people can feel comfortable making up yet another bullshit reason to isolate themselves from everyone
>>735073It's more to save face for arrested development
>>735076>arrested developmentspook
>>734998Millenoids complaining about anime is the 2020s version of gen x shitting on coloured hairs and how nobody listens to rock music nowadays, sit down old man
>>735078I guess people on here whining about having no experience in romance past age twenty five is a spook.
>>735071You're getting caught up on the idea of a hard line between twenties/thirties and missing the bigger point about the actual numbers involved. A 29 year old is obviously a 30 year old with a vanity digit, that doesn't make it any less awkward to talk to a 19 year old particularly when…
>>735076 Basically this. It would be fine being 30 if it didn't mean being 20 mentally but old and weird about it, constantly seeing people notably younger than you pass milestones you've yet to reach, enjoying their lives, and not yet undercut by looking more and more like a real adult.
Anyway, the helpful information here would be how to make friends with people in a similar age bracket. It can't be a secret that this board is aging.
>>735081>having no experience in romance past age twenty fivehas no bearing on whether there exists an objective trajectory every human being is expected to follow
>>735079I don't know why you guys push so hard that everyone in their 20s or younger(gen Z is up to 28) is some autistic 4chan weeb. You think I don't work with or have friends in their 20s and stuff? It's the same as it ever was for the most part. Anime has been around in America since Astroboy in the 1960s. Everyone has watched fucking speedracer. Being a grown ass man that's obsessed with children cartoons is fucking weird and always weird be. If we're talking about the shonen or whatever that's like just mildly weird. If you're into that loli moe shit, most everyone is going to find you disgusting. If you're a brony people are going to find you disgusting. I've talked with female relatives probably younger than you who liked MLP, you know, the actual target demo, and they find it disgusting and repulsive. I've talked to multiple female MLP fans or maybe former fans because, you know, they aged out of it, and they all find it disgusting and creepy. Sorry to burst your bubble. Go ahead and watch what you watch and act how you like, but you're setting yourself up for a bad time if you think everyone is going to accept it.
Anyways, that was OP's question:
>Why does everyone think I'm cringe.I don't know if he's telling everyone he's into moe-shit, but that's certainly a reason most people would.
>>735103There are more adult fans of anime that aren't weebs than you think
>>735122I'm one of them. I don't know if I'd call myself an anime fan per se, I think it's weird making an identity out of it at all. I watch like the good ones and the seinens and stuff. I don't know if OP is a "weeb" but the moe shit is definitely indicating that.
Most anime is absolute trash. Nothing but fucking filler. Fucking painfully slow. I pretty much don't watch any anime that's not original. I just read mangas. Last anime I watched was probably The Boy and The Heron in theaters. And like I said before, nobody would think you're weird for watching Ghibli movies, they definitely are going to think you're weird for being into this moe shit. If I think like that, how do you think the average person thinks? Do what you do tho.
>>734996One of the greatest lies ever told, along with
>it's okay, no one's watching or judging you, anon, they're just thinking about themselveskek
>>735079Most of modern anime culture in the west, including it being an integral part of rightoid slop, comes from millennials, probably owing to the fact that the people who were "extremely online" when they were young adults were more often than not weebs or weeb-adjacent (eg JRPG fans)
>>735159This is peak comedy
>>735103>Blah blah blah everything that i'm unfamiliar with is le icky and gross and immatureVery fascinating insight
>>735073Age gap can be a serious problem tho, i've known women who said that they are damaged from dating 30 year olds when they're 18, or maybe it's just selection bias. People who have good relationships with older partners usuall don't rant about it to strangers.
The problem i have i think is when people tried to imply that every single age gap relationship is toxic, and that every single power difference in a relationship makes it unsalvageable. You're basically implying that falling in love with someone poorer than you is akin to paying for prostitutes
>>735182>The problem i have i think is when people tried to imply that every single age gap relationship is toxic, and that every single power difference in a relationship makes it unsalvageable. It's just post-prime age people projecting their hurt and immaturity onto younger people. It's also fear of aging.
>>735128>Most anime is absolute trash. Nothing but fucking filler. Fucking painfully slow. I pretty much don't watch any anime that's not original. I just read mangas. Thank you. I keep telling people to read the manga whenever they complain about lore inconsistencies between an anime and it's manga.
However, despite the fact that anime is mostly filler, I prefer it over western animation in terms of character designs and personalities.
Western animation uses too much snark and intentional mediocrity for the sake of "relatability". The characters aren't all good looking either and their skillsets are questionable.
>>735182>Age gap can be a serious problem tho, i've known women who said that they are damaged from dating 30 year olds when they're 18, or maybe it's just selection bias. People who have good relationships with older partners usuall don't rant about it to strangers. in these current trends of social media especially with social issues, it's rather "narrative first, reality later". this sort of thing is spread foremost by women who like to engage heavily with culture therapy on tiktok etc. and tend to overemphasize narratives they find attractive and advantageous to their sex. men may not be aware of this but women treat relationships like men treat football or war, and all women are on the same side, that's why they build intelligence networks with each other to sip tea. much of what gains traction is based on fear, women's fear drives them much more and women (often rightly so) believe that they're more at risk of harm from the average man. this combined with the infantilization of society is the real origin of the age gap meme. it's also advantageous to older women that younger women remove themselves from their age bracket of the dating market. in a funny way these women are using their unfair power dynamics as trusted older women to do this.
>The problem i have i think is when people tried to imply that every single age gap relationship is toxic, and that every single power difference in a relationship makes it unsalvageable. You're basically implying that falling in love with someone poorer than you is akin to paying for prostitutesthat's the result of the hysteria (is that a bad word?) being pushed above. women and men are very attracted to power differences in relationships. in fact, it is one of the main factors that drives attraction. women love feeling small and weak and men love feeling like a strong protective man. how many women refuse to date a short man because she doesn't make her feel safe for example? in the same way men like younger women because they're cute. all of this is just women seeking to strengthen their own power as a sex in the dating market and to destroy men's ability to find partners so that they can be more tightly controlled.
Stop being a weeb and 80% if the cringe leaves your body
>>735216This is why I think cisheterosexual relationships should be strictly procreational only. The natural inclination to power imbalance that's in cisheterosexual relationships mean nothing outside of making babies.
People can preach all they want about equality and progress but until women stop overlooking short/broke/babyfaced men and men stop overlooking older/butch/tall women I don't see why the traditional way of relationships was any worse
