Funnily enough, these names are the result of African slaves having their previous cultural connection to Africa being purposely destroyed so slaves would be less likely to rebel in the future. Most of these names, besides Mitrocondria which is probably some parent taking the piss, try to emulate Latin names because of the Latin languages connection to Christianity and what they consider high class, most likely because slaves were taught about the Roman empire being the bedrock of modern western culture.
So to them, Latin sounding name = Roman = Christian = zenith of western culture = High class. Ironically, Europeans have no one else but themselves to blame for this trend.
