I live in Amerikkka and I was out shopping for Christmas gifts and 2 of the Cashiers at the conveyor belt checkout counters where fucking 60-something year old white ladies and they were dropping shit and one of them gave someone a gift card instead of a gift receipt. Now I doubt that those two old white ladies worked there for decades, I mean they might of but they probably were just house wives who's social security got cut and couldn't afford groceries so she was forced to get a job and saw that supermarket was hiring because all of the Mexicans got deported. But still I feel like as we become more of a gig-economy the worse this will get. America is south-Koreafying at an alarming rate.
Retirement isn't a realistic goal to have, no.
I've seen some old people game the college system so they have a dorm and cafeteria access, planning to just stay a student for the rest of their life since that's the only affordable way to live for them.
>>736223>>736220Retirement was never a thing for the proletariat.
People worked until they died. They just simply had children/grandchildren/apprentices take over the main duties.
>>736495That's due to alleged increase in life expectancy, but I also think it may be due to people starting work at a later age and most of our work life being dead end jobs
