You ever think about how it's more or less accepted by most people now that the people who have run the United States for decades if not longer are unrepentant child molesters, and the most that can come out of it is Democrats sweeping in 2026 and 2028?
I mean yeah, most people have an attitude of "who cares man every politician is bad and corrupt", SURE, but it's CHILD RAPE, man. Embezzling funds and sucking up to lobbyists is terrible but they're mundane crimes, that's why it's easy to feel apathetic towards them. You can even conjure up some bullshit to justify warmongering. It's not those things are more excusable (war more or less entails rape), but you can understand how people can just shrug their shoulders. But this? Something should have broken. It's so blatant, so ridiculous, so insane of a contradiction of the narratives that people passively accept. And yet everything is just business as usual.
You got to keep going to work and keep making that money since theirs nothing we can do about it apparently. Personally I think most people just want someone to tell them what to do because without that guiding hand they're lost even if the people ordering them around are exploiting them and stealing their essence as long as they're giving them a purpose is all that matters.
It really exposed how empty moralism is tbh, people are very easy to judge when they are in a mob against a weaker individual but when its someone powerful who commited heinous moral acts and opposing them carries real bodily harm most people just look down and pretend that nothing's happening. This is why Marx said that moralizing is useless, not just because he was an edgy redditor
