Among intelligentsia, anti-AI sentiment is definitely rising. The entire artist class already hates it fervently. I think we're going to see a rising tide of backlash in 2026.
A lot of businessesand governments are betting literally everything on AI development, and it's because they hope they can exterminate their working and managerial classes and never have to worry about servile insurrection again. Their only worry is "misalignment", which means their pet computers grow a spine.
I really sincerely hope we get a Butlerian Jihad. I don't think it'll happen for a while, but we'll see. Furthermore, the people pushing this anti-human technology are psychopaths and should probably be hanged.

I am now anti-Butlerian jihad
if you can be replaced by a machine that means your job was bullshit anyway, I don't see electricians or plumbers complaining about AI, only labour aristocracy
>>738059Are you suggesting that it's impossible for anyone to ever build a robot that could possibly accomplish the job of an electrician or plumber, or that the qualifier "bullshit" starts applying to a job only from the point where a machine exists that can replace it, or are you, perhaps, just retarded?
if you knew a single thing about the art industry youd know ai isnt going to change much
>le Butlerian Jihad
look the memespouter discovered a new term

as an artist who actually got art education, there already was a divide between us and internet artists who talk about hating art school all day. I wont say AI isnt a threat at all, but many of us have just gone offline. We still show and make work, but we werent drawing furry art for comissions anyway that customerbase to me at least always seemed unreliable and I know im not alone in that. Many internet artists within a region at least all watch the same tutorials to "self teach" meaning a lot of the art ends up looking the same also meaning it becomes very easy for AI to copy. In addition many are locked into, because of their patrons, drawing in a specific style. A lot of internet patrons want "my oc in xyz style". As much as I hate to say it the patronage of a few rich guys often did a lot more to bolster art "movements" and innovation, often coming out of specific local areas, and though you may not hear about it as much that is all still very much happening and money is still being circulated there.
I hate AI not even just on some moral level but it seems to make my life worse in terms of being engaging and pleasurable at every turn. I enjoyed the process of searching for information, I enjoy interacting with real people and touching them, and I enjoy painting and drawing and sculpting and will continue to do so no matter how unprofitable it is. But also, it rarely even comes up in conversation with my peers the way it seems to for "comission artists". I dont support their work being stolen either, but on some level I also feel like they already were making slop. Art until some time into the internet always was a "dont quit your dayjob" activity, the fact that there even was this horde of internet artists propped up by a patron class of manchild internet whales and children with too much access to parental income was the fluke already. I think AI as is, is also a fluke, but that art world thats "under threat" is an even bigger fluke. Im not a fan of this attitude that artists are entitled to income except in the way everyone should be entitled to income. We should have gotten paid for what AI took but in the same way anyone should have, even people in comments sections writing garbage that was still used to train. Art is valuable if people decide its valuable, it will always be valuable to me, but if everyone else decides "uhh why would i pay artist when AI can make me picture" and the government wont subsidize it then I guess thats that. I partly blame said comission artists, for feeding into this machine of art as a product or accessory for yourself instead of a tool for expression and communication. Again I hate AI, but I also hate that someone who draws freddy fazbear porn purely because people pay them too is upset about the natural conclusion to that treatment of art where it becomes corporotized and mass produced. No one probably expected AI to be the thing to do that, but I certainly saw the sloppification and over commercialization of art coming and to many gen z's the idea of art being outside of something you do for money or a product is unthinkable as a result. I dont think said art is "degenerate" or anything like that I dont have some anti gooner art stance, but it is what it is and im not sure how that crowd is surprised now.

>>738044Kill yourself now, retarded future school shooter. I don't need AI to guess a faggot like you posting videos like this will end up a school shooter.
>>738062It's possible but the entire world would go bankrupt just to create it
>>738557Good luck anon. I once wronged an artist in real life and I hope he gets better. You guys deserve more. Bless you and hope you do well.
>>738557this, digital artists who draw cartoons and ocs aren't a real value to society and I don't feel like we are losing a lot by displacing them with AI
IF there is hope, it lies in the proles.
>>738699I remember a Mao quote, "No matter how backward the peasants may be, no matter how much they may refuse to take part in the revolution, no matter how much they may be condemn able, no matter how much they resemble fascists, they must be uplifted, they can be reformed."
