Why would you want to date strangers in the first place. Develop a useful skill and be in the company of people with that skill–which will include the gender(s) you're romantically interested in. Even fandom spaces are a viable place to make friends, though if you go that route you'll still probably need to learn to draw or write or something.

You can't date someone you're not already friends with, that's how you lose a kidney, marry a sociopath, have a list of exes you miss because your only reason for interacting with them was romance that didn't work out, and/or keep using a dating site, bar, etc… that has a vested interest in keeping you there and will employ tactics to ensure it doesn't work out so you try again.
