I try to keep an optimistic outlook on things but my biggest fear is that Trump will say “There isn’t going to be another election” and the democrats will say “bUt dEmOcRaCy” but still comply, and then a revolution will be impossible because of mass surveillance and then millions of people will die of climate change at the same time. And then the mass immigration of people that this causes will result in America doing The Holocaust 2 Electric Boogaloo against immigrants. Then the mass surveillance will cause something to snap in peoples brains and then the global suicide rate will increase.
Things are worsening in the US specifically, but the US is losing global hegemony and socialism is on the rise in other countries. Opportunities to leave will trickle here and there.
Like Trump hasn't already been doing illegal shit all year and been met with at most mute horror from the supposed opposition? Like mass surveillance isn't already widespread in the US and people at most shrug and pretend it's not there? Americans have an impressive ability to rationalize the current situation as always the penultimate step towards real ultimate fascism, always something to be worried about but never something to actively resist when it's actually happening. Good lord.
Honestly the main problem is the people of the US. Guys like trump only exist because of the idiots that promote them. Dems won't do anything of course and even the people turning on trump seem to just be flocking to the groyper movement. The truth is that the united states is a country of mindless idiots. If you want proof just look at how many americans are young earth creationists and compare those numbers to china. Compare the crime rates in america to the uk or any other 1st world country even excluding gun violence. The truth is that america is a uniquely brainwashed and animalistic society. In 2000 40% of alabama voted against interracial marriage. That was only 26 years ago, a lot of people on this forum are probably older than that. I don't think there can be revolution in the united states. Our citizens are generally against all forms of equality, progress, or really anything that doesn't generate a bunch of money or fulfill some kind of power fantasy. The average american likes the "grind", they like to feel better than others by birthrate, they like superstition and obedience, they don't want to improve material conditions they just want to make them worse for somebody else so they can feel power over them.

the younger generations of the us are rapidly becoming aware that there is no path to freedom except death. the sailors who started the german revolution mutinied after being sent on a suicide mission. the question is will our treats be able to keep us comfortable enough to deal with the knowledge that we have no future? as of this year, university is now completely worthless. nothing can guarantee a young american a good future anymore. the question now is, do communists care enough to actually reach out to the drowning working class, or are we also too demoralized and lazy to care?
