His enemies openly make fun of his death. His supposed "friends" clearly just used it as a press opportunity and don't give a shit that he's dead. His political allies ultimately couldn't even pretend to care for enough to turn his assassination into their Reichtag Fire moment. His own fucking wife clearly didn't care and has been playing the (very poorly acted) part of the grieving widow to grift and try to get famous. His "memorial" services were all fucking ridiculous WWE-style political rallies.

Maybe it says something about how much of an astroturf the American conservative movement is that the leader of what was essentially the American conservative youth movement was a nepo-baby that no one actually liked. Not even his friends and allies. Not even his own fucking wife!
