no , this is not off topic. nutrition is a very important matter and should be viewed from a scientific perspective. the trump regime shows again, that it is totally anti scientific. no serious country puts animal products as the base, the base is GRAIN! no matter if you ask chinese or european!
Grains are carbs and you don’t need carbs if you live a sedentary lifestyle, nor protein reallt

>>744160How are vegans wrong besides being annoying? You can get proteins from beans and nuts, and fats from avocados.
>>744158The website looks like an Apple ad lmao.
Oh no it's the red meat meme lmao. Also, pre-waging the war against cell-grown meat to satisfy meat farms.
>>744163Eating red meat is worse than smoking cigarettes, you should only eat things you have hunted
>>744161Veganism is pseudoscientific and dangerous to human development.
Maybe in the future we'll find a way to get nutrients without eating while still staying healthy. Eating is such a waste of time and energy.
Salad plants (lettuce, spinach, etc.) are the biggest scam ever, basically being famine foods with a far worse nutritional profile than your average fruit. People focus a lot on snacks being addictive, but there's also something to be said against the diet mentality, which makes people buy tons of food that doesn't nourish them. Roots, tubers and spices are the only redeeming vegetables, also seaweed is sufficiently nutrient rich and doesn't taste so bad once you fry it with some ginger.
>>744167Fuck you I love salads
>>744167NO u will ead da zalad
>>744167What about mushroom
I'm not going to defend RFK, but what's wrong with eating more vegetables and less processed junk? I eat broccoli, onions, and red peppers every day.
>>744170Not a vegetable + doesn't taste like water and full of protein and selenium.
>>744161They aren't, I eat meat and animal products because I like the taste and I was psyoped to do that even if it's wrong but at least I recognize it. The anti vegan crowd is way more annoying and wrong than the worst vegan crusader, is like windows and the corpocucks who defend it against linux actually.
>>744174eat fibre and shitting will be the easiest thing ever.
>>744161just look at the vegans. Case closed.
>>744175Americans are hogs because they eat breads that are stripped of fiber, so they don't feel full normally and just keep eating more, and that sugar turns straight into fat. It's why they need workarounds like Ozempic to make them stop eating.
>>744158>no serious country puts animal products as the base, the base is GRAIN! no matter if you ask chinese or european!truth nuke.
it takes roughly
>10 calories of plant matter to produce 1 calorie of beef.>7 calories of plant matter to produce 1 calorie of pork.>5 calories of plant matter to produce 1 calorie of chicken meat.>5–10 calories of plant matter to produce 1 calorie of farmed fish, depending on species >>744177i think it's telling americans use "beaner" as an insult

>>744178how many calories to make the bugs?
>>744167>Salad plants (lettuce, spinach, etc.) are the biggest scam ever, basically being famine foods with a far worse nutritional profile than your average fruit.spinach is way more nutritious than lettuce. you're talking out of your ass to compare them.
>>7441815-7 calories of plant matter for 1 calorie of cricket meat, idk about other species of bugs
>>744171Yeha, the plan itself isn't different from standard food recommendations. The problem is that in practise, Trump is gutting regulations on food so the "no more processed foods" is empty retoric. This is just to appease landowners of industrial farming.
>>744167>>744174>>744182>>744184The problem with modern diet is caused by the interests of capital: to maximize shelf life and demand. The former leads to processed carbs stripped of all nutrients, specifically fiber, while the latter leads to everything getting spiked with sugar to induce public addiction.
What's the difference between "vegetables" and "carbs"? they're both plant stuff, but "carbs" is plant stuff stripped of all nutrients other than carbs. Carbs themselves are not a problem, but humans evolved specifically to eat natural plants with fiber. Processed carbs cause glucose spikes, gut inflammation and gut flora death because our digestive system wasn't designed to eat carbs without fiber. Some peddle the lie that fiber provides no nutritional value, when the digestive system is designed such that the gut flora eats the fiber and produces beneficial fatty acids. Then they sell calories as the problem (a whole ass categorial error as it's a fucking energy measurement unit and not a nutrient) instead of lack of fiber, and vegetables as the solution, when vegetables don't have enough caloric content to be the basis of a diet. Whole grains is the actual solution, as well as legumes, they provide the true heady load macronutrient + fiber necessary for a regular healthy diet, while other vegetables can be used to supplement micronutrient intake.
Sugar is literally metabolically poison, just chronic as opposed to acute, there's no further nuance to it.

>>744196We've got plantain chips in the USA . I think they're often imported.
>>744197alright.
try frying unripe (green) sliced banana like you would with potato chips. Add a bit of salt. It's delicious.
>>744186I second most of this, but fiber isn't a nutritional silver bullet and ingesting large quantities of it is actually known to cause gut irritation. I would instead opt for pairing more easy to digest staple foods like rice, potatoes and minimally-processed, refined cereals (which have the added advantage of being cheap) with nutritionally valuable vegetables and your desired quantity of meat.
>>744158Picky eaters need to be forcibly fed, I'm serious.
>>744173Cost in time and money for a well balanced vegan diet (and not eating same 3 things every meal) isnt considered and instead of seeing things from other's perspectives vegans double down on entitlement and giving themselves a moral superiority.
They are 10000000000% always the roadblock to spreading veganism and I'm tired of white washing these fucking subhumans.
Vegans will never defeat The Big Meat Industry. Vegans should become communist or something. Vegans are moralists.
>>744204>>744203Most of the world will be vegan or close enough in two to three decades, the biggest roadblock is the absence of competitive, mass produced artificial meat and it will go away before 2030. The peasantoids will whine and seethe just like the oil barons but their concentration camps are going away.
>>744206Even if that's the biggest roadblock, those annoying ignorant vegans will never push the needle.
They are broken clocks; right twice a day but for the wrong reasons.
>>744206Lab meat is not even close to being viable technology for the foreseeable future.
It requires extremely hygienic environments because clumps of cells don't have an immune system, and we know from actually existing labs that they are willing to cut corners endangering health. There is also a biological problem with that cells can only grow at a certain pace that cant be fixed with technology alone. Biotech doesn’t scale like laptops do.
The only commercially available lab meat right now is one bougie restaurant in Singapore (they had a technology based food self sufficiency program some years ago they later gave up on), I believe recently another one in Hong Kong, and there used to be two bougie restaurants in the US but they cut that back because of bad reviews and food safety
Im vegan myself but even I have to keep it real on this one, lab meat is not going to help real working class people at best for decades to come if at all
>>744204>>744203Veganism is generally cheaper than the standard American diet but…obsessively avoiding all animal products and preparing elaborate vegan meals is often time intensive, which is the real burden for a lot of individualistic dietary refinements. It's associates with the rich or petit-boug urbanites because they have the time and energy to get into dietary refinement, and they drive the price of veganism up with products specifically meant to replace typical meat and animal product staples. If you just replace meat and milk with expensive imitation meat and fancy almond milk, and you treat any exposure to animal products like a peanut allergy, of course it's going to be more expensive. But if you eat like an ethnic Jainist type diet, yeah it's probably going to be a lot cheaper than eating meat, minus the time cost from cooking at home.
>>744308The answer isn't so much veganism or vegetarianism or (insert fad diet) as meat reductionism, and a focus on correcting the nutritional deficiencies endemic in the American (or whatever) diet. Beyond fiber, many Americans are deficient in nutrients like Potassium or Magnesium. But the time intensiveness of personal dietary adjustment is obviously insufficient for the population, and nothing will change without systemic change.
>>744310What will likely happen is…inflation will push meat to the point where it's a rare luxury item for special occasions again. Even fast food restaurants will become unaffordable luxuries for most, and menus will have to opt for cheaper ingredients. But that won't fix other core nutrient deficiency issues.
