Because the only difference between a legal immigrant an an illegal one is paperwork. The illegal immigrants being deported are 99% productive members of society just going about their lives and massively contributing to the economy.

In short, it's not only extremely cruel to deport people just going about their lives – many of whom have lived their entire lives in the country – but it's also unbelievably stupid. In an era where the global birth rate is declining so fast, to deport your productive population is so dumb it's beyond belief.

Because these immigrants are being sent to torture prisons and most of them are not even illegal but naturalized citizens that Trump decided are no longer naturalized. Also Ice is just targeting political opposition rather than actual bad people.

1. America tacitly relies on a lot of undocumented labourers. It pisses everyone off to have thugs LARPing as cops LARPing as soldiers march in and arrest a McDonalds worker who isn't bothering anyone.
2. A quotas have been set and they have been set unreasonably high. As a result, ICE agents are arresting random non-migrants. Even if you can swallow having your McDonalds meal interrupted by thugs beating up the cashier, having your brother beaten up isn't much fun.

My point still stands. I don't see liberal americans protesting against underpaid immigrant labor, boycoting companies that use it, but I do see them hellbent into stoping ICE from taking their slaves to torture chambers.

Organized labour has collapsed so the left is pining its hope on the exploited immigrant labour to radicalize and pick up the fight. Which i don't blame them for. Immigrants tend to be more conservative (which mens they have no problem getting into long term commitments) and have intact family structures (which means they have kids and relatives they can also recruit to the cause). This makes immigrants much better for political organization , than non-immigrant Amerikkkan workers who are alienated from their community and have a sociopathic hustle mentality, and much better than the usual crop of what passed as Leftist recruits in the West, namely white collar college students who is on ten different anxiety medication, has no root in their community and subsist solely on internet vibes

1) They aren‘t just abducting illegals
2) The illegals are kept under inhumane conditions
3) If you let this government get away with this it will get worse

I never said that ICE aren't gestapo, this is obviously also a major reason why ICE sucks. But you can't ignore the fact that the citizenship process in the US is arbitrary and unreasonable. Even if ICE was exclusively deporting illegal immigrants, they'd still be gestapo. Like I said, the overwhelming majority of illegal immigrants are productive members of society just going about their lives, and they often have no reasonable path towards attaining citizenship.
