I remember I was taking a flight as a child soon after 9/11 to NYC. A Sikh was sitting across from me, and as an 8 year old all I could think of was "Terrorist". I stared at him for a long time, in fear. About 30 minutes into the flight he noticed me and smiled, he had a chocolate bar he had brought along and shared a peace with me. Then in perfect American English said "Homelander." It was a very eye opening experience.
God bless India and the Camel Jockey's of the world. Truly one of the kindest groups of people I've ever met, no matter where I meet them I am always greeted well and respectfully, something i think us Americans could learn from.
