i don't know if something like this happened to some of you (probably) but you kind of have the feeling you're an outlier. like people don't like you and you don't know why

for instance, i have a friend. we go out a lot together and people tend to like him more. the weird thing is: we are weirdos. we like the same music, art, humor and shit. but everyone likes him more (even at times he's more unhinged than me)

this doesn't only happen when we are out but like in events as well or gym. idk it seems weird. maybe something with me? my face or my ~vibes~, i really don't know but it seems everyone avoids me for some reason

so anyway, do you have this feeling as well? how so? is this about the tism?
offtopic: i was migrating from github to codeberg and they are down for maintenance when i was midway done :( gotta wait a while now to finish this
you have social anxiety but you also might be right

Describe geography and culture

Yeah, I think it is face and mimic and body language. Too neurodivergent, even when I speak and act normaly, little things betray these is something off about me.

im brazilian, culturally speaking (most) of us are heartwarming to each other

also might be worth adding: in this aspect, im warmer when compared to him. it's something i tend to get complimented on (like how i know my way with words, how polite i am etc.) and in his case it's the opposite, he barely looks in the face when speaking to someone else (i do that too but he's way more frequent) and tend to be harsher with when wording

i think that too. i had a "friend" in the gym that asked my friend and cousin if i was autistic, citing his own cousin as example and comparing him to me; both my friend and cousin said that they don't think i am autistic, that i "was just that way". idk what to make out of this

Any Speech quirks or scattered thoughts? May need more general socialization and experience. Coming on too strong or seeming warm can seem insincere. Your friend is likely seen as young and shy. You may be seeming like you're trying too hard can off as fraudulent. Has your upbringing been mostly around women by any chance?

At this point, anything is considered autism.
Just merely saying the word "autism" makes you more likely to make autistic offspring

>Any Speech quirks or scattered thoughts
i have dyslexia which mainly affects my speaking abilities, so i stutter a bit and have a difficult time when saying a phrase with certain sounds that i find hard to do. not much scattered thoughts, only when anxious or depressed but i avoid socializing when im like that

>May need more general socialization and experience. Coming on too strong or seeming warm can seem insincere

which what im forcing myself to do, even just a tiny bit per day. i analyze the situation to respond accordingly so i dont come out too strong. maybe this backfires?

>Your friend is likely seen as young and shy

ironically his 2 years older than me (but physically he looks 3-4 years older). as far as i can tell, he's regarded as arrogant when meeting new people

>Has your upbringing been mostly around women by any chance?

yes. my father was mostly absent due to his work so it feels like we barely know each other. my mother was and still is more present in my life and she is deeply attached to me. although i have an older sister we don't like each other (i have a few fond memories with her but that's it) so we barely talk. im curious, is there something about an upbringing with mostly women that affects social interaction as a male?

Yes but I’m literally mentally ill. Thinking like this is mental illness. Research psychedelics (I took Iboga and found it helpful)

> he's regarded as arrogant when meeting new people
Arrogance suggests value, instinct is to respect it.
> im curious, is there something about an upbringing with mostly women that affects social interaction as a male?
Feminine upbringings often teach to be overly nice and put others first. In extreme cases, they become people-pleasers without boundaries.

When you go down a busy street, how many faces do you look at?
And when you look at these faces, how often do you think words about the person?
And when you think words, how often are these actually resembling sentences?
(Something like "old" or "huh weird hat" does not count as a proper sentence here, I mean at least having subject, verb, object.)
And when your brain bothers making a full sentence about a person, how often is that not just something somewhat negative, but really hateful?
Now, try to relate that to the total number of people you walk by.
What are the odds that you remember a random face a week later?

Why would it be different for other people. In conclusion, who gives a shit. For any random encounter, it is extremely unlikely that you make a lasting impression, whether a positive or negative one.

>Arrogance suggests value, instinct is to respect it
he's regarded as such but he's chill, but that still work maybe?
>Feminine upbringings often teach to be overly nice and put others first
that hit home somewhat

that's what im practicing. trying to not overthink abt bs that doesnt change my life in any meaningful way

It's because you are a coder. People hate our kind.
