This is what I imagine learning Marxism at an Elementary age and being Chinese on leftypol(dot)org must feel like.

>learning Marxism at an Elementary age
*national socialism

Do Chinese actually have marxism as part of their school curriculum, or is it like how philosophy is taught in high school (or marxism in eastern block countries) - regurgitating cliff note version so dumbed down the kids would be better off with nothing at all.

Supposedly very basic Marxism is rolled into their grade school curriculum. Additionally they have colleges specifically for advanced Marxism there.

They don't really need some high level school curriculum anyway, their entire society is built around marxist principles. They live and breathe as a part of a Marxist society. Marxism is just a natural part of their existence.

This is why we don't have many posters from china. They are already living in communism. They don't need to come here to learn.

maybe its bc of the censorship and the education but bilibili, although no less midwit and combative than any other parts of the internet, has a very distinct feeling different from other parts of the internet. Take for example Genshin Impact(please dont stop reading). On different platforms, despite releasing the same video there are largely different popular comments. Warning: major orientalism/reduction incoming that definitely does not represent the totality. On Youtube its more stan-culture centric, highlighting feats, hype moments and aura, reactions, and aesthetics. On Bilibili, there are more lore connections, fanfiction moments(fanfic blurbs where authors create character dynamics to enhance the original materiel i.e shipping, tragedy, etc), and what can best be described as collective comments, which can best be described as taking upon a role willingly. For example, sending a chainmail"you must reply to this post or your mother will die in her sleep tonight". For example on bilibili there are comments where a comment posts a picture of a camera, and they say "gather here to get your picture taken" and the comment chains result in emojis with peace hand signs pretending to take a picture. Yeah you could argue thats just standard internet behavior with comments like "comment if you are here still in 2025" under famous videos but I think its distinct enough in its kayfabe behavior to be called something different. Netizens on bilibili love roleplaying. You might be saying yes everyone loves fucking roleplaying on the internet but kill yourself alright I dont care. Youll see what I mean when you visit it.

they do but its crammed in with so many other subjects that its basically a footnote in comparison to the torrent of many other subjects they gotta memorize to take the national exams. A lot of netizens complain of not being able to critically think like the Westerners, although they'd be satisfied to know that despite our education on Critical Thinking, burgers are still stupid as fuck and uncritical anyways and share mildly the same sentiment as any student universally of "why bother learning this". Although youll get comments from older netizens saying they once griped about having to learn this poltiical education because it was useless in their daily lives, but having experienced worker exploitation under the capitalist companies in Communist China, they completely understand why there were taught it.

"Critical thinking" has become a cliche used to throw around justifying extensive non-technical classes.

Also, critical thinking isn't automatic in all subjects.
You can be a good critical thinker in academic stuff but be a complete retard in practical real world matters
