I kind of like the idea of reincarnation.

Nothing. There is no soul. Free will doesn't exist. Brains are biological machines which act in nuanced and complex ways which might seem "free" at first but which nevertheless behave in total subordination to the laws of physics, rather than in a self-driven manner. Even if the laws of physics are random rather than deterministic, the brain is still in total subordination to those laws of physics. The brain behaves differently upon receiving damage, for instance. Those with severe brain damage act differently than they otherwise would, and if your brain damage is severe enough you live as a vegetable without even the illusion of "autonomous decision making" (i.e. "free will") that brains normally display. There is no immortal soul to hold accountable for earthly actions. Humans brains are held accountable for their actions by other human brains in flawed ad-hoc social systems while they are still "alive." When the brain is totally dead the person is gone forever. No essence remains, just the matter which once was the brain.

This truth has been obvious to people since ancient times when one could observe the consequences of brain damage, and has only been vindicated as our understanding of biology, chemistry, and physics further developed; However, people are very hesitant to accept it because the implications are unpleasant. To better "control" the masses religious systems have been erected by the ruling classes which propose not only free will, but souls, and eternal punishment/reward systems based on compliance to doctrines.

Can I live an amoral life and still get into heaven?

>>750283
Yes. God takes bribes but so does the devil. You might have a good time in either place. It really depends.

>>750283
Heaven isn't real.

does she has breasts or water balloons? jfc

>I kind of like the idea of reincarnation.
This is probably the hardest concept of Buddhism to accept, and some predominantly western Buddhists even reject this concept while accepting pretty much every other principle.

Nobody really knows, tbh.
I can't even say with re-assurance that it is nothing.

For all I know, Heaven itself and union with God could be nothing: nothing is infinite, boundless, undefined–these words could be euphemisms for nothing.
Of course Christians say that it is either eternal hellfire, or esoterics that the fires of hell is just allegory for reincarnation and going back to this world, or second death is what atheists say–nothing.

We get the faint idea of nothing from being unconscious or asleep, but I cannot say for sure that is what death is like. We don't experience nothing.

I think reincarnation would be appealing to transhumanists.
They were born into the wrong body, but reincarnation also gives them the hope they could be reborn as a woman.

>>750329
I was born in the wrong body. I should've been born in Chad's body and had a harem of 7\10 women.

Shouldn't you be busy lobbying the government to force women to give birth to fetuses with Anencephaly

there’s been cases of it happening iirc

the anon who said "true and materialist" is not the same anon who made the post about Free Will not being real. I am the anon who made that post. Here is proof, you can see in this screenshot that the (You) is attached to my post which he tagged, but the (You) does not appear at the top of his post. Meanwhile the (You) appears at the top of my post.

So do these babies go to heaven, because they cannot sin, or do they go to Hell, because they cannot conceive of Christ? Do they go to purgatory? Why did God create these critters?

Attend your own funeral. Pretend you are already dead seeing your family members go about their day and you are simply an omniscient presence. Experience Death by LARPing as being already dead.

hes not even saying anything controversial. most religious people dont actually believe in god, they just hope hes real

Kind of funny everyone frames this question in an atheist vs christian way. In fact, why frame it in a way that is religious at all? Imma tell you all something I saw in a psychedelic trip. Basically god herself told me that if we needed to know what happens after death to learn the lessons we were sent here to learn, then we would be born knowing. The fact that we aren't born knowing means that instead of trying to get answers for those questions we should instead just trust god.

She also told me that ironically religious people have the least faith in god amongst everyone, because if they truly had faith they'd be fine with not having answers, knowing that god will take care of all of us even if nobody knows how. But because they don't have faith they invent a heaven, a hell or a reincarnation and a bunch of other answers to a bunch of other unknowns. God is real, created us and sent us here for some reason. There's something here we need to learn. We don't need to know what comes next, we only need to focus on what we have right now. We'll have time to learn the lessons of the next world when we get there, its pointless to think of it in this life.

The people that loved you become sad

>>750309
Yeah, Buddhists say they don't believe in reincarnation but what they're really saying is that your sense of individuality, 'that I am this', doesn't persist.

>>750445
oh yeah well i had a psychedelic trip too and god told me she was fake and gay

>>750442
I don't know why they would.
It is more likely everyone is going to Hell than getting to Heaven, if their God is real.
