I understand the asymmetry but e.g. if you live in a world where every inhabitant has a 99.99999999% chance of living a life of intense bliss and no pain, but otherwise they're born into a life with the pain-pleasure level of an average life in Western Europe in 2026, would this logic for antinatalism still hold? If the answer is intuitively "no" doesn't it seem like we have to start talking about ratios and probabilities instead of assuming absence of pain is always preferable to presence of pleasure? (I'm intoxicated and might be making zero sense)

This is unironically dualism which is a spook.
To put it in basic math terms, lack of existence is not 0, it's undefined. To say that an individual is experiencing an "absence" of something is to imply that individual has experience outside of physical existence, which is, again, dualism.

i just made up a word that will include both. ill call it gonk and shlurp. gonk has both presnece of pain and absence of pain. shlurp has presence of pleasure and absence of pleasure. TAKE THAT
